HI Dennis, That's a great model you've built there. I was posted to Fearless Amphibious Beach Unit in 1967. I was the BARV driver/mech. with 2 divers and a sergeant commander from the Army (REME Corps) with RE engineers and RCT machine operators with 3 Michigan fork lifts plus a detachment of Royal Marines. I left her in Nov. 1970 for my demob.

HI Dave, Yes that's 80 turns per pole. I've got a very short video but I don't know how to post it yet, I'll have a look. Regards Geoff. PS. I'm not sure about the current draw, I'll get back to you on that one.

HI All, E.Raymond is 36 inches long x 9 inches beam. She is scratch built, plank on frame with 3mm ply deck. I made her from the Cervia plans and enlarged them to 36 inches. She has a 540 type motor which I rewound with 80 turns of 30swg wire, for more torque. She has a 4 blade prop 60mm diam. and powered by a 6v 4amp SLA battery. I started the build last March, she's not quite finished yet, needs an anchor winch making and a set of tyres on the sides and other small details. I sail her at Holyhead Breakwater Park when I can.

Here's a few more pics showing my home made winch from a Lego 9volt motor unit which is controlled by a servo and two micro switches. There's a ring on the deck line that all the sail lines are tied onto. Cheers Lubber. PS. The large mainsail is counter ballanced by the deep hull shape right aft. Regards.

HI there Cap'n Jim, Glad you like it. The sails are all controlled by the winch line round the after deck. I'll try to post some pics soon, Cheers, Lubber.

HI Hammer, Yes I did, a couple of years back, all built from pine off-cuts and run through my band saw.

A scratch built model of a Gloucester USA fishing schooner 1900 era. Pine plank on frame, 2 channel radio with a Lego 9volt drive unit as sail winch controlled each way by servo and micro switches, the deck is planked on a thin ply sub-deck and deck openings are sealed with Vaseline. The deep keel slides up into a box through the keel and secured with a bolt.

The model is scratch built, plank on frame with grp inside and out. it has working lights and radar scanner. it was designed from photos of a McAllister tugboat ex usn. The motor is from Electronize, rewound for more torque and less speed with a 4 blade plastic prop. Very responsive and plenty of power. (Motor: 543-12) (ESC: Bob's Board 2amp) (10/10)
