This is a model originally produced by Robbe but has now been reintroduced by Krick. I have read the instructions from start to finish. I will repeat that for those dis-believers. I have read the instructions from start to finish. It appears to be a relatively easy build with a little interest in the handrails. I am sure there will be plenty to stumble on along the way. I wanted a model that was completely different to Dusseldorf which is highly technical using 16 channels to operate. This model only uses two. I might add a couple as I go to add a little more interest.
The model looks of a high standard of quality. My model came complete with the brushless motor and cooling coil. I cannot find this anywhere else on the web. The motor is enormous. If it performs like it looks, I think I had better add a pair of wings to the boat.
I have made a start on the model by making the stand. In true form, Krick had produced quite a nice stand but had no chance of surviving the build without falling apart. It is made up of two nicely vac formed ends with plywood glued to each side. I constructed the stand as instructed and when the glue had dried, I drilled additional holes in each corner and added SS nuts bolts and washers. It looks and feels a lot stronger now.
I probably will not do much on this one for a few weeks as I want to finish the Police Launch and progress the Dusseldorf to a point where the majority of the painting is complete before the good weather disappears.

Please be patient. I have to finish the Police Launch first. I also want to paint the Dusseldorf cabin as well. Then I will make a serious start on this one.😊

    Hi Peter,
Good to see you have finely got time to do a bit of model making.
And what a good way to celebrate, 'Start another model' LOL!!

I decided that the next project would be a lot simpler and quicker to complete.
Najade is another Krick model but very different from Dusseldorf. The basic model has only two functions. I think I can manage that. There are also only a handful of main parts. That should be easy enough. That is what I thought. The truth is very different.
I promised the late Martin that I would read the instructions on this one for a change. I proved that I could read them but that is where it ends. I decided to remove the waste material from the main parts and trim all of the edges to shape and size. If I had followed the instructions, I would have seen that the main deck superstructure should have had a former added before trimming. I missed this detail and have now had major problems keeping the parts to the correct shape. I will continue battling but I am really not enjoying this build.
I have fitted the two rudders and their servo. I added the greasing tube by soldering to the prop shaft and then mounted the motor and then installed the prop shaft using a rigid joint for alignment. I sealed the shaft in place with Staublit Express. I then replaced the rigid joint for a heavy-duty flexible joint. The receiver was fitted along with the ESC and tested. All was working well. Next was to fit the water intake and outlets.
The main deck was next. After cutting out the side and top apertures, the main trimming of the shape was completed. Location tabs were then added to aid alignment whilst fixing to the hull.
I will continue with fixing the deck and superstructure for the next update at which point the model will go on hold until the weather warms up and allows me to start the painting.

You should have ordered the kit without the instructions peter, you could have saved on postage weight, and put the time saved reading the instructions, to trimming more plastic off things 😁

Only two functions, what could possibly go wrong ?😁
