Itโs a Ford huh? fix or repair daily, fix (or another word๐) on race day etc, I worked for Toyota for 20 yrs,- same thing there Cash, "sorry sir, it will have to come from Japan" (3wks) or Aust 2wks etc, - especially for imports. Had that problem myself having 2 older Toyotas.
Ford service here was diabolical,- you could walk into their main city branch parts store and get totally ignored (we'll help you when we can be bothered attitude) always had a bad name for service here. They had a bell on their counter, but people kept hanging on it for service, (because there was none) so they removed it. All staff were hidden, (or hiding) behind partitions. JB ▲

Itโs a Ford huh? Be careful, something you need will probably be back orderedโฆI work at a Ford dealer, at the back parts counter. Ask me how I knowโฆ..๐คฃ
In all seriousness, this is a cool project. I used to do rc cars back in the day, dabble in them still. I have a couple of friends who still race rc dirt oval and crawlers, if you get in a bind for something in the car side of this project, give me a shout. We can probably direct you to something that will work. Cash ▲

Awaiting developments with great interest Jacko.
I do hope that yours isn't Leaky though!๐ฎ Will you build this one as proper duplex drive? I guess you can paint it any colour you like - AS LONG AS IT'S BLACK!! ๐ Have fun, cheers, Doug ๐ ▲

Presume this is from the Willy's MB (Jeep) that Ford & GM also produced during the war. See it was the predecessor to the DUKW - developed by Ford and an outside team based on the MB and Fords GPW version. Read it was not very successful as it floated well but tended to get stuck on landing as it was very heavy - Wikipedia calls it the GPA - nicknamed the Seep........
Was a shame though that a small company got done by two big ones with influence & political clout taking over most of the building ........... Should make a very interesting build though - will be following it closely - very different . Will you be building it as really amphibious or water borne only? ▲

Looks like an interesting build. Is this the smaller version of the standard DUKW. I shall follow the build with interest, but I feel sorry for that poor Norfolk Keel that's languishing somewhere and crying her eyes out saying 'please build me'.
Cheers, Nerys ▲

So construction is imminent. Sounds like a real car factory with parts all being delivered 'just in time'. I look forward to your updates,

Hi Jacko,
" wheels needs to be printed photos as and when " Why not have a trawl round the RC car/truck sites? I'm sure you can find some suitable wheels (and drive train parts) there. Or with your skills, why not 3D print some rims? Then buy some RC truck tyres, to give better traction than the hard 3D print plastic. Cheers, Doug ๐ ▲

As has been said sure you will find items small enough to go into the build yet powerful enough to run the build.

We know you'll figure it out 'Jonah' ๐
Say Hi when you get spat out again!๐ค If you need any help (which somehow I doubt) re mini/micro motors & RC gear let me know. I've got loads in my stash and specs / sources in pdfs and links in my archive. SFSG with the sticking.๐ Cheers, Doug ๐ ▲
