Hi, My next update on Katie, I have now fitted the last deck member at the Bow but left the last one at the Stern so i have more room to fit other things in the hull. I have also fitted the 555 Motor and Propshaft etc and repaired the rear part of Keel that i had to cut away to fit everything.

Yes Rick I thought about this and there is one were the mast goes through the deck and also because the rudder goes from the bottom of the Hull to the very top of the stern so I will have to make access for the servo so I should be OK but I will keep that in mind thanks.

    Cheers Jon.

You may have looked at this and have a plan. With the deck members in place will you have room to get at the motor and coupling. Will you be doing access covers.

Hi All, Sorry not much been going on last week because i have been really rough for the last week and been tested three times so far but still negative i am glad to say. I have done a little to the framework in the hull around the upper Mast support and the surrounding framework for the rear large Hatch area where i need to think about fitting some of the radio kit and leaving enough room for getting to the motor etc. Hopefully i will get some more done in the week also can anyone help with the boom picture of the plan i need some help with either making a gooseneck fitting like it using a more modern version, what do you think?.

Hi Rick, While i have been unwell i managed to get my Booster jab today just to add to the symptoms but i have been looking at plans and working out were to put the electrics in the boat in a safe place but not block off access to the motor etc. I have also been working out how many parts and accessing rigging parts that i need, I think i am on top of that job now so hopefully i can get on with the build next week.๐Ÿคž Thanks for your comment.

    Cheers Jon

Sorry you haven't been feeling well Jon. The good thing about our builds is time is not an issue. What ever gets done is a step closer to our goal.

Hi Graham I have read your Blog on building Emma and what a build it is but to be honest it has pushed me out of my comfort zone some what, Your metal work is outstanding but as i do not have the machinery to make parts like the ones you have i will have to make the best i can and hopefully my boat will turn out alright in the end. Thanks for a very interesting read.

    Cheers Jon

Hi Andy, to be honest i have not thought about that side of things yet, I ordered a set of four sail's for her today, but at the moment i like the picture of on Sarik model web site showing her with three sails and i think that is the way i will go. Still along way to go.

    Cheers Jon

    Hi Andy,

With regard to fitting two winches, I donโ€™t know if you have seen the solution used on my Gaff Rigged Cutter. This has sheets from either side of the jibs connected to one of the winches.

Looks like you are making very good progress and everything is coming together. All I've really done so far with the Katie hull I bought, is to buy a 1/12th scale figure off eBay - to help get the proportions right, when I get there.
