Hello everyone,
Now the time has come, because I am looking for ideas how I could strengthen my ABS hulls as well as possible.
The last time I worked on my ships was in 1989 and since then a lot has changed in terms of the treatment of the hulls
My question:
What would you do first?
Removing the old paint is clear, but then with 2 component resin and mats or just with Etze-Kote in several layers?
These are the first questions an apprentice might ask. .

Hi All!!
I would never have thought that EZE-Kote would be so difficult to get here in Switzerland! Something like that can take the joy out of you when the shops are closed because of the pandemic and only sent by post. And then these delivery times! Then I wait and call to you: Hicks . . .Cheers! If it were a full size sailing boat I would go for 2 component resin and mats, however its a model and as such is not placed under the same stresses so I would go for Eze-Kote and a 1oz fibre glass matt after the paint is removed give the hull a 50/50 resin and water mix coat and lightly sand then give a full strength coat and let dry lightly sand and then place the matt on the hull in as bigger sheets as possible and paint the resin on sparingly and leave to dry followed by enough coats to flatten the weave out I hope this helps and isn't teaching you what you already know.
