Some interesting detail, its coming along nicely, keep at it and keeping us informed of the detailed processes, we can all learn from a well detailed blog.

I had similar issues with parts for a friends aircraft carrier, I used 1mm and 0.5 mm brass wire and soft soldered the framework together, I may have a go with carbon fibre as I know he want some more making.
PS the centre mast is only a "prop" for manufacture ▲

Hi flaxbybuck
It is surprisingly robust, Iβve managed to drop it 3 times and only had to do one repair! Just need to avoid the overhanging trees and bushes at my boat club lake. If it does go horribly wrong Iβll treat it as an opportunity for a Mk 2 version. ▲

I admire your attention to original detail. This must be the fiddliest part of the build, and of course the most vulnerable. Be careful when you take it to the water - you don't want to risk damaging that aerial display.π

I'm impressed by your birdcage antenna & your 2 Yagi-Uda's. My final career was Radio Inspector.

The paint is Hempel Multicoat with about 15% thinners, the grey and black are semi-gloss so not too shiny.

Hey Neal, take a picture of your prop and how you secure it. I need to see this for my own knowledge. Thank You Jul ▲

Thanks Bill. It was completely my fault, in the rush to get it on the water Iβd forgotten to sort the lock nut. Wonβt do that again.
Another school day! ▲

Neil.
Shame and I feel your pain. Been there done it got the medal and yes itβs so frustrating when we take so much care to get it right. I lost the entire shaft and prop on one boat when the engine coupling came loose.Just got the boat back on the other shaft as the water poured in thru the empty shaft. Regards Bill. ▲
