I have taken photos of the mechanism. Mounted on the side of the hull, It operates a push rod to the door.

Thank you for all of the your wisdom and tips, I will get a retract servo and a snake and give it a try.

Hi Les, had same problem with mine put the back down and model floats higher in water , ended up drilling two 6 mm holes in bottom of door and again two 6 mm holes in bulkhead of door close to deck level near hull to deck join solved problem as lets water in and air out, also use nylon snake on aircraft retract servo , needs servo slower fitting as when it goes down it slows the boat like an air brake . The push out mech as graupner intended but where the end pushes vegasak out had to triangulate with bit of brass rod soldered across to stiffen to stop vegasak shaking its way off also adds to smother recovery . Did display 2016 or 17 at Warwick show several times model was and still is being refitted. Have seen a trolly system working and seems the answer , until you try it of course . Good luck with refit . When working as it should its a real buzz as friend can drive Vegasak , not as easy as it looks , trust me .

I have built the model years ago when Graupner brought it onto the market. I know that then the system to push the rescue boat into the water and to pull it back into the mother ship caused quite some โ€œthinkingโ€. Actually thereโ€™s another and far better solution on the market. The German manufacturer
JT- yachting is bringing a system on the market which is much simplyer and operated with a winch servo. It cost z as round 100 euro. I bought the system to buit in into the Harro Koebke also with a small rescue boat
If you want more info let me know
    Enjoy the building
