Thanks to those kind members who have made constructive comments with regard to my newly acquired Norstar Kingfisher kit. Living as I do in a small apartment with no garage or workshop, I have to rely on my child- bride’s permission to use the kitchen table for such projects, and all ready have three in the pipeline! Perhaps the Kingfisher will have to join the queue until, Spring next year. I shall bear in mind the various suggestions - probably will be brushless powered

Found this 40+ year old kit at local Toy Fair yesterday . Everything seems to be there so looking forward to building in due course

If you're using a brushless motor I wouldn't worry about the weight - I build mine heavy and I think a bit of weight makes them more stable on the water.
If using a brushed motor it would probably be a good idea to put it on a diet as Ronald says!
I understand the difficulties of modeling at home.
