I have been lucky enough to acquire a replica VOR model from one of my stores.

Nice ideas Martin, I did the VOR as a challenge from my company (Musto / Helly Hansen). it was in one of my stores looking sorry for itself! I am more into a working trawler or Gill netter... been working on Cygnus style boats recently (see blogs Emily PII and Emily PIII) but am thinking my next one could be a steel boat as I do like a bit of rust!!!

Ah, but there are yachts and there are yachts. While these brash modern things are unattractive, something like an older Marblehead, 6 Metre or a scale model of a J class, or Victorian gaff cutter are a quite different matter.
But of course a sailing fisherman of some sort is a wonderful thing. How about a Morecombe Bay Prawner, a Northumberland Coble or a Leigh Peter Boat? Beautiful, functional and a modelmaking challenge, all in one. Martin ▲
