I have done the inside of the hull with fibreglass and resin and the outside has been filled, sanded and then 6coats of ezecote deluxe resin and finally 2 coats of primer ready for topcoat so I hope it is strong and waterproof

If the model is going to be a model that will be sailed on water, may i suggest that you consider coating the hull with fibre glass. I have used this method on my fleet of eleven R/C scratch built scale model warships over the past 47 years. The models remain intact and waterproof.

That looks very good especially if that is your first attempt, well done.

Love the planking, shame to hide it under paint.
    Cheers Colin.
