Wow. This shows that having a plan is the key. The wiring is so neat. Do you have a cunning plan to connect cables between the superstructure and the hull for easy removal. I use multi pin connectors but have found them large and awkward to store.๐

Hi Doug,
Thank you for the reminder about the suppression capacitors. I now have them on my Cottesmore to do list, I have them in a bag in my draw now. I must admit when I started putting her together I did not have them but I needed to connect it up for testing and I guess I just forgot about it. Thanks again. Martin. ▲

BTW A word to the wise; looking at an expanded view of your last pic I note that you are using brushed motors but without suppression capacitors! This may be no problem for you and other 2.4Gig users, but it can cause major interference problems for the submariners amongst us if operating near unsupressed motors. We still have to use 40 or even 27MHz sets as 2.4GHz waves don't like getting their feet wet! They shy away from water and whizz back up to the sky ๐ Spent 30 years of my professional life solving colocation interference problems on naval ships! Cheers, Doug ๐ ▲

Hi Doug,
I will not be using any mixers, it will be entirely up to the captain weather he choose to manoeuvre with rudders, props, bow thruster or all three. ▲

Excellent work Martin๐
Very service friendly (Once again proving the old adage- 'If you fail to plan then you plan to fail'!) and excellent detailing. I have made some wt doors for my HMS Hotspur in very similar fashion. Do you use a rudder mixer with the twin ESCs or rely on the bow thruster? You're getting the hang of Blogging pretty quickly I see. Nice style. Keep it up. Cheers, Doug ๐ ▲

Hi Martin,
Nice idea using the baking paper like that, I hadn't thought of that, I have a roll in the workshop though I use it mainly so I don't stick the work I am assembling to the bench! ▲

Hey Martin,
That's one neat trick๐ I'm off to the kitchen / workshop to check my stock of Backpapier (as they call it over here). (Er ... what were we talking about?๐) Oh yes! And one very neat result as well๐๐ You're bloggin' like an 'old' Pro. Keep it coming๐ Cheers, Doug ๐ ▲

Really nice. Super skill. The inside looks highly detailed and I can agree that it would be nice to see. Hope I can do something of this quality some day. Looking forward to the next installment.๐

Hi Steve.
I started with two small piece of 1mm plastic card. The first piece I drilled a small hole and smoothed it out then glued it to the second piece. Then shaped them, and then cut a very small square of plastic and placed that in the hole. Then painted. It is the painting that makes it. Martin. ▲

Hi Peter,
Thank you for your kind comment. First I used tracing paper (baking sheet) traced the image from the drawing then cut it out with a scalpel, then just drew around that and cut them out of the plastic card. It was a bit tricky but it was just a case of taking your time. Martin. ▲

"... my wife keeps finding me things to do and has this habit of volunteering me to do things for her friends.

Gisela has now got me making insect stoppers for all the doors and windows in her flat ๐ค๐ BTW: by the time you think you have got Cottesmore finished - it will be time for her Midlife Refit ๐ Keep up the good work.๐ Cheers, Doug ▲

Hi mouldbuilder,
Thank you for your kind comment it is much appreciated. When I started to make HMS Cottesmore some three years ago I just wanted to make a boat to float on nice days but one thing leads to another and I found myself going in to more and more detail. She is not perfect by any means and she is not completely finished I have a few more years work left to do. Now that I have retired I seem to have less time to my self than when I was working as my wife keeps finding me things to do and has this habit of volunteering me to do things for her friends. I am determined to get her finished one day. Martin. ▲
