Just started a puffer kit build ( Mountfleet kit). First step build a new stand for it. The attached photos show the progress so far, bare fibreglass hull, internally painted, fitting of prop shaft, making of electric motor mount and fitting it, setting out the controls and battery mount construction and finally a coat of red primer for the under water hull areas.

    Hi Dave,
Nice. Slowly coming together, well done.
As for weathering, I have tinkered with it with various levels of success.
It's certainly a skill to get it to look right and practice makes perfect.
The only thing that I can suggest is that you look at the weathering tutorials on utube.
There are a lot of skill full people on there and they have lots of different techniques.

    Martin.

    Hi Dave,
You might take a look at the weathering paint and wash sets available from LifeColor.
See attached catalogue. It also contains hints and tips for application.
See page 10 in particular; rust, salt streaks, deck and detail washes etc.
I've bought the Rust set but haven't had the guts to try it yet.
Candidates are my Destroyer, U-Boat fish cutter and tug.
When / IF I get the hang of it then on to HMS Belfast and Graf Spee.
Think I'll practise on some spare plasticard first!!
    Good luck 🤞
    Doug

The superstructure is a glassfibre moulding so they are already there.

    Great detailing Dave.
How you did the rivets would interest me as well!
Like the "Dremel" tool box too, very neat.

Who's a clever boy Doug, removed the 'g', and Hey Presto! video plays, will remember that , for any other videos with mpg4,the pc originally gave me an option to download an app to play the file, but they wanted Money! cheek...😠

    Cheers, Pete

    Glad it worked Martin
You see, the vid won't work with Allsorts (not even the nice round coconut ones😋).
You have to use Smarties!! 😁

    Hi Martin,
Found the snag (with some PCs anyway!)
The file ending is .mpg4 which Media Player doesn't like.
So, download the file, find it in the Download directory (or download it direct to the 'Video' directory.
Delete the g from the file ending (use the Rename command, right click on the file to see that in a pop up options window) and it will run happily in Media Player.
    Cheers, Doug 😎

Hmm! When you click the box it should open a window giving you the choice of Download or Open.
The Open option should also suggest a suitable viewing APP found on your PC.
If it suggests TWAIN of some version use that. Worked for me.
Otherwise Download it, find it in your Downloads directory and click 'Open With',
You should then get a window with a list of possible viewing Apps, e.g. Windows Media Player or Films and TV. Either should work.
    Bon chance mon ami🤞
