I’ve started and so far (touch wood) not had any real issues, made up jig to hold everything straight. Am still unsure what power option to go with, Enya 60 is out of my old Sea Queen, but think may use the brushless motor πŸ˜€.

Brings back fond memories of my 36" crash tender which I built circa 1980 and powered it with a Frog 2.49 diesel.
    Ah, the good old days!

    Hi Pete.
Doug's quite right about the choice of power plant, there's no good reason or advantage for using I/C these days.
Tip...when building up the hull do 'dry-fit' all the parts first and check that everything is 'square' before glueing and pinning anything
    especially if you've had a bevvy πŸ˜‰.
I'll be following your build with great interest.
    Cheers 🍻.

    Hi Doug,
Thanks for the advice, yes I’m going to go brushless, much easier than glow. Yes to the John Smiths very nice πŸ‘. Been know to have a beer or two while making my models πŸ˜‰

    So far so good PeteπŸ‘
Nice drop of brain oil there too by the look of it.
    John Smiths ?πŸ˜‹
I'd go for the brushless if I were you.
Will give you far greater choice of ponds
IC boats are banned almost everywhere these days.☹️
    Cheers, Doug 😎

I thought I would give a update on how the build is going, it’s slow going as I’m working a couple of weeks night shift πŸ™ anyway, I have got as far as fitting the wood strips along the sides.

as others have said measure twice - cut once, try fit twice - glue and pin once, taking your time is no bad thing, rushing this type of work only results in a poor end product and rework of rushed work. Im still working on mine over a year after starting

Its looking like a good planed build keep it up.

    Hi Pete
    Nice looking kit.
I am in the process of upgrading my 46” Keil Craft Crash Tender, I see you are going to use a brushless motor what size/ type motor are you going to use?

    Hi Pete,
At this stage you feel like your not getting very far, but soon you will see a massive change and that will give you that Buzz and make you want to carry on.
    Keep up the good work.

    Martin555.
