I brought this model in the shape it is in about 3 years ago hoping that one day I could get round to making it a model to be proud of..

I will be basing this on the T.I.D 164..

I will try and include as many updates and pictures as I can, if anybody wants to correct me or have an different way of doing something please up in..

    Kind regards
    George

Tug Invasion Duty - Tug Inshore Duty - Technical and Industrial Development - Tug inside Dockyard

The above are just some of the ideas of what TID stands for.

There was a few based in Newhaven just after the war so I will go with Tug Invasion Duty.

    Hi Fred,
T.I.D. (as George almost saidπŸ˜‰) means
Tug; Inshore and Dock. Pic shows 164 at Chatham 1994.
Had me wondering a while ago as well so I Wiki'd it.

    Hi
TID 164 is in Chatham Dockyard well worth a day out if and when we can, have a look at this Facebook page, the guy who is running it is based in Maldon Essex and is working on restoring TID Brent.

I don't know if you have asked this "What does TID mean" so far no one has an answer
I have the Sarik plan and wood pack of the TID in 1/24 scale.

    Have fun with your buildπŸ‘

I have seen some T.i.D. Projects in the scale boating forum of www.RCGroups.Com. I believe they had some photos of the real T.I.D.’s.

You may want to check it out.

In the meantime, it looks you have a great start.

I also did a search for TID 164 on the web. I see there are a lot of good sources with the TID 164 Preservation Group, Facebook and YouTube. Probably as much detail as you may wish to incorporate.

Well I spent a few hours yesterday building a bench, and looking over the T.i.D to find a few holes have been drilled in the wrong place.. so the first job to do is get them filled in and remark and drill the them in the right place.. but I did make up where the anti slip deck stopped and started.. sorry about the poor picture quality..
