I have been asked by a skipper in Newquay to make another model of his boat. This time though he wants two half models to put on the wall either side of his booking office.
The hull has been made and sent to me for fitting out. This needs to be solid and weatherproof!

I have made the decks and have used plastic boards for this.
Using export I have glued a baton onto the wall side of the model which will screw onto a backboard.
The foredeck has been stuck to the cabin which has been made out of a block of wood. Again this will be screwed to the backboard.

Well since my last update Iโ€™ve been busy!
The boats are now attached to the back boards using silicone and some screws (just in case)! Iโ€™ve used a PVC paint to coat the decks and cabin which is great as it has created a rubber waterproof seal.
The detail has been added to the cabin and the railings have been made using white metal rod.
Iโ€™m happy with the symmetry, close enough and will never be next to each other so itโ€™s not imperative that they are perfect!

    Itโ€™s a first!
The skipper has already had a complete boat from me but these two are to be fixed to the outside of his booking office to highlight the business to tourists. Itโ€™s nicer than a normal sign!

Well, I guess 'half a boat is better than no boat'! ๐Ÿ‘
    Unusual project Graham

The half boats are now finished and off to Newquay where a local business โ€˜Paddlefish Adventuresโ€™ will be using them on their booking office.
The detail is minimal because of the nature of their use.

    Nice work Graham.
I bet they will be very happy with them.

    Well done.
