She has a crew of four and is designed for heavy weather, self righting recovery to continue mission with a cruising speed of 22 knots and max of 25. more photos of model construction to follow.

Thanks for all the well wishes. I had a slip an fall on what we call in Wisconsin โ€œblack iceโ€ which is hard to see. It forms on pavement in low areas after a warm winter day and a foggy night. Both feet went forward and I landed flat on back, arms to sides and head tucked forward before hitting concrete.
Had plate put in ankle and quadricep muscle reattached to kneecap 7 weeks ago. Just allowed to put foot on ground this week. Docs say back to work in 5 weeks with a cane. I am thankful I didnโ€™t break my neck or back and have a great wife!
Guys in my Wisconsin Scale Boat. association have offered to do all the boat carrying and launching for me when I can get around better.

    Hi Jim,
Hope your recovery is going well, what did you do.
I started this project many years ago by getting a working drawing at that time I was in the Aux in Ontario. But family life, work etc and then retirement and I started working on it last Dec. Photos are always welcome especially for the smaller details that one only thinks of when one is working on it.
    Stay safe

I also look forward to your build. I have been also been slowly creating one but it has been five years on off between family, work, life and recent injury. The boat has taken lowest priority. I have lots of non digital 35 mm pictures from 15 years ago when I was able to tour a 47' MLB at the USCG teaching station at Cape Disapointment, Washington. I can share any specific detail pictures down in my workshop after I have recovered and able to navigate walking and stairs again.

    Hi Rick,
I am building it, started in Dec but had problem getting supplies such as Balsa wood. Now have ISP problems that seem to interfer with loading photos from my smart phone with telus to gmail. But more will come.

    Hi John,
Suggestions always welcome. I have tried other ways for single rudder but thought I would use this for twin rudders and see how it works out. Will keep an eye on it which may be difficult now as its under the aft deck.

hi there I dont mean to be critical = but = having a look at your rudder linkage, I think you may be straining the gearing in your servo. I dont know how acquainted you may be with the mathematics of leverages and rotation. The amount of effort you are asking the servo mechanism to move your tiller arms is greater than the leverage and the linkage between the 2 rudders. Best way to describe this is to think of riding a pushbike/cycle as your hands are on the handlebars, the further away your hands are from the centre point of your front wheel pivot, the easier it is to turn the handlebars. Now, imagine, taking one hand off the handlebar and moving the remaining hand very close to the centre point of your handlebar and then trying to turn the handlebars/front wheel - the effort you would have to put in is immense. The same thing is happening with your rudder/servo set up-. I hope you dont mind, but, I have put on a few photographs of the linkage I use and it is called the closed loop system. This is a lot easier on the servo. Also, less wear. Dont forget the more work the servo has to do the more strain it puts on the gearing inside the servo and also, the more power you will drain from your supply battery. Just a thought not meaning to criticise but just trying to add my help - or I may be telling my granny how to suck eggs.
