Brilliant, and also a good rough water boat

Beautiful work, really real.
Health Zdenek👍😊😉

Thank you. I'm really happy with it. Fish boxes left to make and some final net detail. Then it's off to the beach for real fishermen to give their seal of approval!!

Weathering - Posted: 11th Jul 2017
Added the numbers and name yesterday and started the weathering process.
Unlike my previous boat (Emily P) which was based on a steel hull I can't go crazy with the rusting! Fibre glass does however fade where water is consistently running so I have added some extra epoxy resin running down the sides from the scuppers and where the v doors, trawl and nets would rub.
I have then used white gloss, brown fence paint and will add some green (for the slime!)
This was applied with a cotton ear bud and then rubbed back with some string.

Crew ready! - Posted: 11th Jul 2017
Thanks to ballast for the great idea to use rubber gloves for oilskins. Really happy with how they look and have added some brown fence paint to them to dirty them up a little..

Batman & Robin in civvies?? 😉
Response by GrahamP74 on the 11th Jul 2017
Close! The one in the suit is Harvey Dent from Batman The Dark Knight...
Still trying to find the shorter one!!
Response by RNinMunich on the 11th Jul 2017
My knowledge of BBC series is 30 years out of date, otherwise I might show my age and tip 'Delboy'! 🤓
Any clues on the packaging, what or who was he sold as?
Manufacturer? ID / mould number on him somewhere?
Now you've 'scritched' my curiosity 🤔😉

After yesterday's water check I have taken the gantry and wheelhouse off and started the paint job!

In the water! - Posted: 4th Jul 2017
I have found the new benefit of having a hot tub in the garden!
Pleased to see her finally in the water. Allowing for battery weight, additional deck gear etc I can see how she is sitting.
And I'm pleased to see my fibre glassing is watertight!

Now to get her out and turn the bubbles on for a quick relax!

Ready for paint! - Posted: 3rd Jul 2017
Managed to get the prop shaft glasses in today after adding a brass coupling joint my dad made for me on the metal lathe.
This has allowed me to screw down the gantry and net hauler. I will be putting her in the water tomorrow to get some idea of water line and ballast. Then I will be able to paint the hull.
The deck will and bulk works will also be painted.
Also started work on the v doors for the trawl and some other little bits today. More updates soon!

Hi Graham, Pardon my ignorance but what's a prop shaft glass??
and I believe you might mean 'bulwarks' 😉
cheers Doug 😎
Response by GrahamP74 on the 3rd Jul 2017
Sorry glassed has been autocorrected to glasses!
Response by RNinMunich on the 3rd Jul 2017
Aha! Understand 👍 Windows thinks it knows better than we do 😡
Even if it has no idea what we are talking about 😉

Wet Wednesday afternoon quiz! - Posted: 28th Jun 2017
I'm making some of the deck detail today..
Just for fun and to get the brain working what have I made using the following?

Copper wire
A raw plug
PVA board
Some plumbing pipe (two different widths

Answer later tonight!!
Response by GrahamP74 on the 29th Jun 2017
Well they still need a little extra detail but a gas tank and a Co2 fire extinguisher
Response by RNinMunich on the 29th Jun 2017
Ah ha! 👍
Response by GrahamP74 on the 30th Jun 2017
Finished the detail and it wouldn't be right without some rust on the tank!!
