Look for a simple balsa build
Let us identify the problem first. It could be an error from many sources. I drew these plans up by asking people to scan die-cut kits in their collections, then I used a CAD package to draw over the lines and put them out as .PDFs. There could be errors with the original scan, with my drawing, with my conversion to PDF or with your final printout. And no doubt there are other possibilities as well, such as the deck being the right size, and the hull structure too large.... You state that most of the hull structure went together ok, but that the front part of the deck was not long enough? I believe that the front deck should be 6.5" long. That is made from a front part of 2.8" and a side part of 3.7". What length is yours? And if you have any of the original paper print left, you could check whether the inch marker really is one inch...

    CNC boat kits...?
Yes - and you want to balance out the current available from your power supply to go to all drivers equally. I have 1/8 microstep on X and Y axes, but 1/2 on the Z axis. You usually want that one to go faster with less resolution...

"........there isn’t a huge amount of swivel on the buckets, was thinking of putting a mixer in rather than a rudder?, I suppose it’s just trial and error.... ...." If you put a small 'dagger plate' on the keel, like the power racers do, that will improve the turning no end....

    HMS Cottesmore
I just thought I would post some photos of my HMS Cottesmore. She is still a work in progress. I have been working on her for about three years now.(in between other projects) I purchased the hull And running gear from Fleetscale. Everything else has been made by myself using odds and ends, bits and pieces including yogurt pots and a lot of LED's I have a few more years work to do before she is completed, lots more bits to make.

    Old Swordsman or Huntsman ?
Purchased many moons ago in a sorry state, the wiring was a bit of rats nest, I tided it up and and ran it for a while then forgot about it. I have now restored it to its currant state but have not sailed it yet. Not sure if its a Swordsman or Huntsman and have no idea whose kit it is, I did have an Aerokits RAF Fire Tender and it seems to be the same sort of kit or maybe Veron? Fitted with MFA torpedo 850 and two 2200 mah lipos.
MTB from a Model Boats plan
Here are a couple of pics of my MTB which I built from a freebie plan which was in Model Boats - the plans were by Glyn Guest. We had it on the lake last Sunday for a run around - she has a 540 motor fitted; an Mtroniks 15 amp speed controller; and can run for a good while on 7.2 300 mAh batteries
