Brightwork, nice workโ€ฆ. Iโ€™m working on the same boat.
5 ply Baltic birch keel & ribs. Basswood planking then wrapped in 3/4 oz fiber glass with bob smith 2 part epoxy. ( cover the sins as well as water proofing )
Using a brushed 540 motor thatโ€™s approximately 85 turns, 1-1/8โ€ 3 bladed prop. Direct drive. 7.2 v battery. Now, I used a lot of ball bearings and copper BBโ€™s for low ballast and then covered in 2 part epoxy to hold them in place.

Sounds like weโ€™re building the same size tub here, but mines coming in a lot heavier. After testing in the bathtub, I want mine to sit low in the water giving me less bobbing around.

Thank you to you and Ron whoโ€™s in this already.

Don Sutton in Toronto who had the vessel you are building, said he may have a few of the parts in his workshop. Give me a call or text and I will pass it along to you.
