Paint booths

Hi Nick
I purchased a spray booth at a model show some years ago as the spray is not good for your health and for small items a small portable booth is convenient and gives all the protection and light to allow you to work safely.
The filters fit across the whole of the back of the booth and there is a built in fan system and outlet at the rear to attach a hose to take the fumes outside.
I suggest you look at

to get more details.
As for how long they last this will depend on the paint you are using and for how long. As it is protecting your health you need to ensure the filter is not blocked so it is largely subjective but you you should be able to feel the airflow from the rear and replace the filter if required. In my experience the filter can not be cleaned once the paint has dried and fine spray will set quickly.
They are not cheap but it's your health and paint spray is not good for your respiratory system and may cause irreversible damage.
If spraying in a well ventilated area you can buy full face masks with built in filters that will also protect you.

Paint booths

I have one of those common portable (and foldable) spray booths. I only use acrylics paint so I'm not worried about ducting and let the filters handle the fumes. As to the question of what kind of filters, I have some carbon filters that I'm going to try when I go to replace the original. As to how long they last, at depends on how much you use it.

For those of you that use a paint booth what sort of extractor fan do you use, and what type of filters do you encorperate, and how long do they last. Photos would be appreciated.
