A very nice replacement. A buddy had an olde 2002 tii… with some track type mods to it. But left her pretty much factory in appearance. All I remember is. “ HOLY @$#& “ that thing was weapon on the streets.

Enjoy your new purchase

Not a good day

Hi cdnfurball

The new car is a BMW 5 Series Touring bought to replace my aging and rusting Range Rover.

The Range Rover broke down on the way to the boating lake a couple of weeks ago, thus curtailing another day’s model boating. Spending too much time fixing the Range Rover so decided after 10 years of owning it, and 25+ years of Land Rover ownership that it was time for a change.

The BMW has enough room to transport my model boats and will tow my full sized ones.

Happy to see that the boat was easy repairable!

Other most likely had lousy days for model boating. I've see/had sinkings, collisions, drops (especially on concrete), loss of electronics on the water (batteries, connections, RC gear), weed entanglements, as some examples.

"Not a good day" is a good topic for some more feedback from members, so...

What was your "Not a good day" experience?

Getting around to fixing it. Looks like I was lucky as the seat back hit the metal deck crane first, only found it was bent when trying to fix it back to the deck. The crane has distorted but took the brunt of the hit, saving most of the antenna array. Easily persuaded back into shape.

Hi Neil.
Did you swear 🤬🤬🤬,bet you did😥
Things normally happen in three’s.
You’re not having much luck at the moment with this one.
I do feel your pain,we spend so much time on our beloved boats for the simple things to cock it up.Looking forward to Fridays sail 🤞🤞🤞
Hopefully all will be well from now on.
Regards
Bill.

Not a good day

Was hoping to take RTTL 2748 out for a sail today after replacing the lost propellor.

Yesterday I bought a new car and spent last night playing with all buttons including those by the tailgate that drop the rear seats.

It appears I didn’t latch the seats back in place as I’d put 2748 on the rear seat, pulled out of my drive and braked. The rear seat backs tilted forwards onto the boat, smacking into the mast and antenna array and took off one of the deck cranes. The mast now needs 4 sections to be glued back in place, the mast realigned and the deck crane reattached.

So today’s model boating didn’t happen, will try again on Friday after I’ve fixed the damage.

Went shopping instead and did manage to find a perfectly sized transport box for the boat that will fit into the car boot and won’t slide around so at least I’ll avoid the same thing happening again!
