Hi all, I expect it is a combination of having a boiler certificate and insurance that grounded her. Insurance companies do not like things that get hot! Then there is the steam.
On lake Windemere there is a steam boat which also makes tea for the trippers. It take 10 seconds to boil the water using the steam system on the boat.
A great shame though.

Evening All.
So today we undertook some Grandad and Grandma duties and visited one of our local attractions “ Country life Park near Exmouth”
While Grandma played on the bouncy castle with the children I had a good look at the now static steamboat (see pictures)
A short history reveals that the “Paper Moon” was originally a Royal Navy Clinker workboat of mahogany on Oak construction.
LOA 16’6”
Beam5’6”
Transom stern.open launch.
Bought and restored 1989/91 and steam plant fitted.
First steamed in 1991.
Engine..Single 3”x 4” SLRG valve gear.
Former fairground organ engine.
Boiler.. “B” size No 9596 built 1946.
Such a shame it is now languishing as a static example next to a bouncy castle, but at least it is preserved in the dry.
The only people who looked at it were men of my age!!
Take care all.
Regards
Bill.
