DG, This was the ESC I was thinking of, should do the trick. There is not much choice in aircraft type brushed ESCs these days, as brushless tech has taken over, so you have to try what you can still get. There was also the same one on Hobby King with their branding,- now out of stock.

Lew.. I have gone for the Hobbywing Eagle 30 amp ESC.. I'm hoping disabling the brake will give me the functionality I'm looking for.. 🤞

When mentioning "Hobbywing" esc's I recomend adding the model number as well. Hobbywing has a rather large selection of esc's.
This is true of a lot of questions on this site, they are too vague. This helps a lot when asking for advice.

Hi DGoss999, maybe I'm telling you something stupid because I've never flown with RC planes or helicopters and I don't know radio controls well.
It's just a harmless attempt anyway.

Try with the trim, if I remember correctly it worked for me.
I wanted to adjust the Throttle all the way forward and moved the trim all the way to one end. It worked.
You should have one trim for each channel (of the stiks) of the four main ones.

If I didn't understand anything about the whole discussion, I'm sorry, I need to improve the translations.

Hi there Lew.. Thanks for your comment.

I'll give it a try but I think this may just reduce the forward throttle response to just 50% of the stick travel.. I would like the forward speed to be controlled by 100% (or close to) of the stick travel..

Hobbywing make 20A and 30A brushed aircraft ESCs, look on Ebay.

I have NOT tried this but it might work:

If you have a decent transmitter where you can program features, how about adjusting the channel that has the ESC assigned. Change that channel's limit (endpointss) reverse direction to zero. I have done this to ESCs where I want the reverse speed of the motor to be much slower than the forward speed. Have not tried zero reverse as I have no reason to do this. Let me know if this works.

What amperage do you need?
The brake function is used with folding propellers and never used on multicopters (drones) so they are freely available.

I have done quite a bit of research on this and came to the same conclusion - an Aircraft ESC.. The only Brushed Aero ESC I can find is a Hobbywing 20A or 30A device but they STILL have a Brake function (disabled with a jumper) on a plane??? (go figure!). I have ordered one to try and to see how much of the throttle stick movement is left to control the throttle after the brake is jumpered out!

To be fair with so many committed Boaters, I was hoping someone here had done the same legwork and had found the ideal solution (being a bit lazy I guess).

To cool the Aero ESC I will add a water plenum onto the MoSFET pack and plumbing to the boat..

Oh my why I didn't even think of this....how about for an aircraft? No reverse on those!. Wouldn't be waterproof but could be made to be waterproof.

No reverse? From what I have seen most brushed ESC's can be programmed with a "card" to cancel out the braking effect but there will still be a neutral or dead position and the opposite direction (stick back) will be reverse.

Please can anyone advise on a quality >12v Marine Brushed ESC that I can use without the reverse/brake function being enabled. I am looking to have the 100% motion (top to bottom) of the throttle stick and not just 50% motion above the "auto neutral position" all the ESC's I have found seem to configure?

Rgds. DG..
