Thanks Vortex - lovely moving shots - it takes me back to the 70's when I saw the craft in action and had the privilege of photographing it on land. if anyone would like any detail photos please contact me. My humble photos attached, in its painting stage. Briefly, 27 in hull, (from drgs sent to me by Renato Levi) double diagonally planked. Detail is important for me but very time consuming, but, that's the enjoyment of modelling!

I hope to have it in the water (our local pond) early 2018.

    Regards, Bill

    Hi Lucky Bill

The font is Old English Monotype.

I think that S.H.G. Marine may still have some of the name decals for their 1/12 scale Surfury from the 1960's

    Best of luck.

I expect that many modellers of this iconic craft encountered difficulty in painting the name on the stern (photo attached). Does anyone know if they used a specific font? Now that transfer sheets can be ink jet printed, it remains a difficult task to isolate the lettering for that would be an eventual easy application. Any other ideas?

I would be pleased to hear anything on this subject! Thanks, Lucky Bill
