Really interesting presentation- I got a lot of ideas from it.
Never thought of using silkspan in that way. Used to use it in preference to tissue on planes.

Thank you for all the compliments guys. I was 21 when I had my first command in commercial sail, but boats, sailing and the sea have been a lifelong passion.

    Cheers, Nerys

Sorry for the fopah Doug, but I'm sure the sail mistress won't mind. After all she truly is one of the '' guys '' when it comes to sailing knowledge.
    Cheers Colin.

    Colin,
"You'll have to ask the true sail master, Nerys"
Isn't that 'Sail Mistress'๐Ÿ˜ฎ or 'Sail Person' to be properly PC?๐Ÿ˜
Anyway, you're dead right: Cap'n Nerys is the one for sailsโ›ต๐Ÿ‘
Me? Sorry no. All left thumbs when it comes to sewing ๐Ÿค”

It is normal to use the selvedge, ( the finished edge of the fabric) as the leach.
    Cheers, Nerys.
