Hovercraft

Hi Nerys,
There is nothing to apologise for.
It is me I should of mentioned that I was only doing some electrical work and a bit of fibreglass laminating at Hovermarine.
Other than that I don't know much about them.

Hovercraft

Hi Nerys,
Many years ago i worked for a company called Hovermarine.
And they made side wall hovercrafts, and they were situated next door to Griffon Hovercrafts in Woolston Southampton.

Altho i don't live to far away from the hovercraft museum at Gosport i still have not been there.

Hovercraft

Hi Bill,
Apart from Martin's new one there have been a few other hovercraft threads on the site.
https://model-boats.com/forum?q=Hovercraft
BTW: I still have a hovercraft kit on the 'stash shelf'. Full kit with vacform top, skirt and all motors and fans etc. Just needs RC and battery.
It's about 24 x 12". Anyone interested?
Cheers, Doug 😎

Hi Martin.
Sounds like a great project.
I think without checking that one of our members did dabble in this field.
Will check further.

Hovercraft

Hi Martin, That sounds a brilliant idea, I've had a thing about them for years, and did have a few trips on the big cross channel ones years ago. I even had the plans for a one man version at one time, but never got round to building it, If you want to see some in the flesh, visit the hovercraft museum in Gosport where they have a large collection. I know they have a small one that they actually use but whether they take the general public in it I do not know.

Cheers, Nerys

Hovercraft

Hi Guys,
In my time I have done a lot of different RC models from Tanks, Helicopters all the way down to boats.
And at the moment i am making walking sticks not RC LOL!!.

I will admit One thing I have not built Is a Hovercraft.

I like seeing them in action but i know absolutely nothing about building them or what materials and motors, Fan blades to use.

I think it would be nice to have a little section here about them.
And you never know I might have a go at making one.
One day.

So how do you go about making a Hovercraft ?
