Hi Martin and JB, thanks for answering my query so quickly. I peruse Ebay every few days using any combination of words to do with model boats and have never found this kit, so thank you for digging it out. I note that the seller has it on Ebay at two different prices, that's because one contains the motor and prop and the other does not. Interesting to know how a manufacturer of organ bits etc should expand into boat kits, could be that someone on the staff is a modeller himself and is trying to start a sideline. In all seriousness, I'm not so sure I wouldn't like to build this boat myself. When I find the energy to finish the barge and the LST, I'll no doubt be thinking of another project and although this is a bit different for me, it appears to be simple enough not to exert me too much. so, watch this space.
Cheers, Nerys

Hi Nerys,
This is the info from Ebay.
It contains recommendations for Motor, Battery, and prop.
I think the video is the same as JB posted.
The Kestral is a vintage style cabin cruiser wooden model boat kit made using the latest CNC machining and self-jigging construction for a fast, accurate build guided by a unique set of construction videos:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o5TCDVxQzKk
The second picture shows the parts of the boat simply slotted together, with no glue or fasteners whatsoever, to demonstrate the effectiveness of the self-jigging construction.
Length: 25" (635mm)
Beam: 8" (203mm)
Recommended Motor: 600 size brushed or equivalent brushless
Recommended Battery: 2S LiPo or 6 cell NiMh
Recommended prop: 40mm diameter 3 blade brass prop.
Recommended rudder servo: Pre-cut trays are included for both Hitec HS225BB and Etronix ET2015
The kit contains over 100 precision CNC cut plywood parts, all strip-wood and dowels.
Deck planks are routed for a realistic appearance, not just scorched like laser kits.
Pre-drilled mountings are included for various motor options.
CNC routed plastic windows are included for ease of assembly.
Includes a fitted stand with rope handles and protective felt strip.
Includes a wooden ship's wheel, quality nickel plated cleats and clevises and a turned brass ships horn.
Includes a brass rudder and tiller assembly and ready-made servo linkage.
Includes a quality stainless steel and brass prop-shaft with glass cloth to secure it.
Includes a custom made water scoop and outlet with hose for a realistic jet of water when the boat is under way, can also be used to cool the ESC or motor if required (longer hose will be needed).
Other parts will be needed to complete the model as shown, a full list of the kit contents is at the address below, note the lights and prop shown on the prototype are not included in the kit.
We've produced a comprehensive series of videos that detail the entire construction of the model, there's no need to interpret cryptic plans or follow incoherent instructions leaflets, it's all there in the videos to watch.

If it looks right it probably is.
It dose make me laugh how the seller has it advertised at two different prices on Ebay.

JB,
The way he is putting it together everything seems to be the perfect fit.
He obviously did not get the kit that everyone else would get LOL!!

Also on YT Martin, real strange place to find a kit, don't know if it's one they make, or it's a Chinese laser kit,- HK and others sell (or did) a lot of plane frames done like this from China. Posting this link in the usual spot here doesn't work (invalid) but on the page it works ??

A friend tells me he has been given a part finished kit called a 'Kestral 25" cabin cruiser'. He knows nothing about it, how old it is etc, I've never heard of it either. Whilst appearing to be quite an easy build boat, the kit is quite comprehensive with good quality fittings, an engine and prop are included. So if anyone knows anything about it, whether it is still available etc we'd be pleased to hear.
Cheers, Nerys
