MT, we bought our Cricut Maker when they first came out after seeing a demonstration in our local hobbycraft store.
It's great for cutting all sorts of materials but limited on thicker plastic or polycarbonate. Up to 1.0mm thick It's fine, but thicker ones it struggles.
Have managed to cut light ply and veneers up to 1.2mm thick.
It excells on vynils for graphics and lettering.
My only gripe would be the lack of drawing software. But if you have a decent cad program it is quite easy to use.
Look it up on the Web and watch it in action. Personally I would prefer a desktop laser, but price prohibitive.
All in all its good, but could be better, the newer models recently launched may have improved.
    Cheers Colin.

That's good to hear, I ask because I'm interested if the type of cutting machine is a worthwhile investment.

Sorry MT, I've not had chance to get the acrylic sheets yet, but I think I have managed to scan the frames and windows suitably well enough to use in my Cricut Maker, I did cut them out of paper and lay the cutouts over the originals and they seem to be quite a good fit.
I'll do another set in art card next before trying it on the acrylic sheets which I hope to get at the weekend.
    Cheers Colin.

Think after the Biblical three score and ten we all need to look at the brighter side of things as Nerys does - most of us seem to need maintenance one way or the other - but there's always something we can do.

Knew an elderly fellow many years ago - was going blind but wanted to write & illustrate a book about the African countryside buses - which were always colourful and filled to overflowing. Painted the walls of his garage white - then painted huge murals on them which he was able to see - had a photographer in to reduce the size & had the book published - was a great success and sold out quickly...........

Thanks Martin, I'm afraid the maintenance is a bit like the Forth Bridge used to be, constant for evermore paint and paint again, but I wish the comparison was similar and they'd find something that would fix the everlasting repainting as they have done for the bridge. Still, I shouldn't really complain, I get lots of good days and anticipate many more now that the campervan is up and running.

When the winds before the rain, soon you may make sail again, but when the rain's before the wind, tops'l sheets and halyards mind

    Nerys,
Sorry to hear the routine maintenance is ongoing, hopefully you will end up with more good days than bad.
