Hi mate. If you really want to know. We were going to Paphos for a week from 24/2 to 3/3. On 24th, at Birmingham airport my wife slipped and fell over. She was picked up, dusted off, put on a wheelchair, and bundled onto the plane. Half way to Cyprus, she said "I cand move my shoulder and knee". The cabin crew got us a wheelchair to get her off and we hired a car to get to the hotel. To cut a long story short, we got her to a doctor the following day, and she got x-rayed. To discover she had split her kneecap horizontally in two pieces and her shoulder was shattered. We spent the entire holiday, plus an extra 5 days in hospital. The we got repatriated via Istanbul to Heathrow with a 2 1/2hour ambulance journey each end, making a journey home of some 23 1/2 hours. Jan is still in hospital at Worcester awaiting a full shoulder replacement this coming week. We really had a great holiday (and it's still going on, as she is going to be out of work for the next 12 to 14 weeks) and I am the disabled party in our home, and I am having to look after her, not the other way round as normal. Hope that satisfies your curiosity. But I could really do with a holiday (if we dont lose our home, as we cant pay the rent), as I'm totally shattered looking after her, and 3 days a week, our 20 month old granddaughter. Cheers, Dave 😴

    transmitter information
Just purchased a new transmitter/receiver for my present build. This came with wg hat appears to be a sort of lanyard with a plug on the end and a sort of small wand attached. There is no mention of this in the manual or of it's purpose. Any help would be appreciated. My original setup did not have this.

    HMS Devastation
She was launched in 1872, and was effectively the first RN modern era battleship. I am thinking of modeling her. Does anyone have any good info, drawings, photos etc?

Can't edit or add to boat in harbour
Many thanks for your prompt reply to my moans. I am pleased that Facebook do not have any personal details. I had been absent from the site for some time due to personal issues and on returning find it has all changed. Being 80 years old you can imagine that I am reluctant to change! Full marks to you for all you do and I will shut up and have patience. I myself run two web sites (Hoylake and Southport MBC's) and do realize your problems. Keep up the good work and sorry for being a grumpy old man. Kind regards Max

Locating Clubs on 'Boats Clubs and Lakes'
Agree Alan, It was a lot easier / quicker to find all sorts of things before. The Forum used to be categorised; Electrical Related, Site Related, Specific, Boat Related Non Modelling Chit Chat, for example. Now everything is in one 'bucket'. ☹️ Doug

How can I expand the photos.
Your are right Colin - tried it on my Android and the same as you. I am sure that they will come along with a fix shortly. Other than that the site is a 'good'un'. Alan

    CNC boat kits...?
Once the machine is set up, we run into the two classic workshop requirements - tooling and work-holding. We hardly need a powerful spindle or Dremel for cutting balsa, which is what I am going to start with. I am going to use an old brushed boat motor with a small chuck added. But I need an easy way to hold the workpiece. Here I am making up an experimental vacuum holder. It's sized to take a 4" x 36" sheet of balsa. I hope to slip a blank sheet in, run the machine and take out the equivalent of a die-cut kit sheet an hour later. Note the requirement for everything to be massive and rigid, so that items can be held exactly in a repeatable position without movement while the cutting forces are applied....

    New Website Has Finally Arrived!
Private messages bug should be fixed now Colin. Also... some faulty hyperlinks and pages redirecting to the wrong place. Think I've got to the bottom of that too. @John, are you trying to post in the media section or the forum? Stephen

    Editing Models in Harbour
Thanks for the 'fix' StephenπŸ‘ Basically I like the new site presentation. Well done, helluva lotta work has gone into itπŸ‘πŸ‘ Now time to celebrate with a nice single malt instead of the coffee? Can recommend a Lagavulin or a Jura 😜 I've been wandering about the new site for several hours and have noted a few points that may need some attention - Some nice features which seem to have disappeared ☹️ Some new/old ones which don't quite seem to give the expected result. Will send you a report (with +'s as well as -'s πŸ˜‰) when I've finished stooging about. Would be nice to have the 'Site Related' forum topic back to do that! More soon, cheers, Doug 😎
