Come on all you sailors show your apreciation for our new improved web site, I look this morning and still only a miserable 7 donations for January, lets make it a super month and improve that number, target 31 or more that equates to one a day, yep my maths isnt bad but everything else is debatable!!!!!! Allen R
Come on I know ships and boats should be water tight and so should ducks backsides but there's no need for sailors and model boat builders to be the same, come on lads see to the website maintenance fund, where else can you get all this support and advice for next to nothing ????????????
Must say I'm disapointed with the response to my appeal for web site funding to improve, feel like I might do a Robert Maxwell and go overboard, that wont happen though as I am going to keep embarssing you all with my comments, come on shipmates get your fingers from up your bums and do a donation via Paypal......
Any amount helps the cause, It feels good to donate to such a worthy website as this one. Who's next come on we should all give at least a fiver Like Jarvo said, any amount helps. who's next are you the next person to donate. This website is extremely helpful, think of all the fine people you've met or will meet. Think of it this way where else would you hangout, read learn and share well where....? 😊
If you don't have a Paypal account that's alright, just do a straight forward Contribution...
Yes, it's very true their is a lot of knowledge on the website. But we must not forget the person running and maintaining the website. Stephen (FIREBOAT) deserves a Handshake and a Thank You from all of us using the site. Without him the website would probably not exist....
Yes I agree Stephen deserves a medal for keeping this site running i hope people relaise how much it actually costs to build a website never mind maintain it. I am no expert in websites but I no it costs a small fortune and no forgetting all the time it takes to keep it running.
I agree with you, I have a lot of trouble finding Magazines here in the states. But once I found this website, and looked around I knew I had found a fountain of information. and a donation is worthy of the site...
Hi i gave a donation to the Model Boats Website but when i have problems with the website some times it does not work by email so i made a phone call number of times over the years and left a messages and i got no feed back about my problems with the website or a call back .
Hi Cliff I think you must have been very unlucky not to get your problems solved by email, I can understand not getting much joy on the phone I think the guy who runs the site has a full time job and only operates the site as a hobby and service to fellow model makers even for a few small glitches now and then it's still great value for money, if it were a business you can bet subscriptions could be £25 or more per annum and if you didn't pay you would not get access so overall I recon we do very well.
Hi allenrod I have no problem donation money to the website but it some times hard to communicate with no email and call by phone and left a messages and get no reply back it is so frustration for me i will be donate again to keep the website going .cliff
14 donations to web site management fund so far, lets keep it going, we are on a roll, target 31 or more by the end of January, come on me hearties dig deep, but be carefull you don't do a Robert Maxwell !!
Thanks, for donating now doesn't that feel good! Ok, everybody now that we have 16 donators let's show how much we care and need the website to stay up and currant with donations. come on come on lets donate.... 👍 Where are my manors, I ment to thank all who have donated to the cause, and those who will donate. 👍
All's quiet on the donation front today, we must be in the doldrums come on lets have another sudden storm and liven things up a bit, all hands on deck sorry I mean in pockets. I know times are hard after Christmas but if anyone think things are so bad do let me know, I do have a few lengths of rope with nooses already tied, name and address and I will send you one complete with instructions but always remember things are never as bad as they seem every cloud has a silver lining, please, please donate. Thanks to all who are already on board....
Attention on Deck, Attention on Deck, Who's next, will it be you! Please contribute It's for a good cause. Now I know I've said it time and time and again. But we need to give so the website has funding to keep on going. Without your Contributions we wont have a website, we can come and participate and share knowledge or see pictures or ever see video's about our hobby. so lets show how much we care about the website GIVE, Donate, Contribute to the cause Now. That is All, Carry on! 👍 Did I neglect to mention we've had 21 Contributers, let's see who else will join the Ranks...
Thanks to everyone who has donated! This month we've broken records on the number of people who have contributed in a single month!
If anyone would like to publically show they've supported the website, you can now add a 'Good Conduct' medal to your avatar. You don't have to, by default it's off, but if you want to show your support you can switch it on in the my account page or your donations page.
In other news, the next project for me is giving you all a better iOS mobile app. I'll keep you all posted on that.
Although that's good Stephen, we still need donations coming in to build up a reserve fund, its not time yet for members to sit back in their deck chairs, keep donating 22 out of 3775 is not a big effort is it, I ask you, come on dig deep me hearties..........
From my reckoning there were only 44 people contributed to the website funding in 2016 with over 3775 members I think this is very disappointing, come on guys if you like the site then make a donation, surely you think its worth £5 for the year. I for one would be sorry to see the site go.
Good morning shipmates, I detect a little breeze in the air this morning, another donation, thanks No 24, lets see if over the weekend we can turn this little breeze into a wind we maybe lucky and double the January target, remember every little helps as the fat lady said, as she peed in the ocean!
I've been busy with calculations this morning and ended up totally disheartened maybe to the point of digging out those ropes I spoke about the other day.......... 24 donations is equal to point 636% of our total membership..... I'm not impressed.....🤐🤐🤐🤐😤
I did mention that the new website upgrade was worthy of a new donation and I'm delighted that allenrod is championing the cause so enthusiastically, and the numbers are rising steadily. Well done to all you new contributors 👏 Keep those donations coming in folks and wear that medal with pride 👍 . Rob.
"Time flies like an arrow; fruit flies like a banana"
Spot on with calculations Allen 0.636% donations and only 1.1% last year. Its very sad that we think so little of supporting a great site. So glad you have made us all aware of our shortcomings. Cheers Max
ATENTION. ATENTION...... All hands on deck.... all ranks including officers.... Now hear this, January web site funding met and slightly exceeded target.. not time to be complacent though, lets see if we can meet a target of 28 donations for Feb. Note membership rising fast nearly 30 new members joined in January, please support the site by donating, I appreciate not everyone has available funds but "those who can should" Thanks shipmates.... At ease Allen R
Allen R As far as I am aware there is no target for donations. Membership is and always has been free. Our membership has always grown steadily and the wealth of free advice and expertise is a credit to all members who donate their time to help fellow modellers. Whilst I am sure Stephen is happy to accept donations to help fund the costs this is voluntary and targets, to me anyway, suggests otherwise. Dave
