    The posting of short videos
Hi Martin, Mon plaisir mon ami๐Ÿ˜‰ "I am not sure quite how he managed to do this." No rocket science Martin. As I understand the situation- Posting videos via YouTube was introduced to avoid flooding the available server space with Mega / Giga bytes of files, especially now in the days of HD / UHD camcorders and Dumbphones which produce huge files. I've long suspected that there is an Upload limit, just like with many email services, of about 15MB. Your video fell just under that at 14.7 MB so it worked๐Ÿ˜Š I simply used the normal "Select Files" procedure to suck and see! I sucked - and we all saw๐Ÿ˜‰ I did the same with Ron's "Fishtailing" videos. I propose to conduct a few tests with other videos to prove the limit. (Assuming that Stephen doesn't read this and just tell us!๐Ÿ˜‰) I'm hoping that the recent site upgrade also included a server upgrade to provide more archive space as the site grows and develops. The last part is our job fellow constructors and sailors๐Ÿ‘ Re YouTube account: I only opened one last year so that I could post my Sea Scout sea trials vids which varied from 69MB to 252MB in 1080p HD format. I'm not a regular UTuber by any means. Registering is free and simple. Only difficult bit is remembering the damn password if you don't upload regularly๐Ÿค” Happy and successful building, sailing, uploading and viewing folks. Cheers, Doug ๐Ÿ˜Ž

    Workshop
Might just have been a clear plastic sheet rather than Poly or Acrylic. I've seen it here on kitset glass houses, ( I also used a similar cheap corrugated stuff for the roofing on the deck, and you can probably see in the picture that it has faded to light blue (was quite dark originally also gets brittle with age) Just put up as a temporary roofing while working on the house. Been there 9yrs (only supposed to last 3), waiting for it to rip off one day. Poly roofing is expensive (about $100 a 12ft sheet). Used that on my first house along the garage (closed in double carport) sides and still looks the same after 24 yrs.

    Movies.
Re crossing bars etc, have you seen the videos of the Safehaven marine (Cork) 'Thunder Child' a private companys' effort to make a 'bullet proof' rescue/patrol boat and general purpose rough water boat. Amazing machine!, goes through, over and under anything,- FAST. Would make a good model subject.

    Gaff Rigging
What a pretty little boat, that high peaked gaff sloop rig in my opinion is ideal for a smallish model. Many years ago , I had a real boat, a converted naval 'Julia' dinghy rigged like this, always one of my favourites. Nerys

    Fishtailing
Hi Doug, I found that when I went to play it windows media player says it's got an extension (.mpg4) which it doesn't recognize but will still play it. Probably a basic or older version of WMP although I've found that problem now and again for years. My TV satellite receiver records in an odd format (TS) so I had to get a converter app for that (along with an FLV converter) My new-ish HP Pavilion 23 -Windows 8.2- converted all my MPG movies from my 2TB external HD- previously from Vista, into FLV format without being asked to, when I first plugged it in๐Ÿ˜ ๐Ÿ˜ ??). Pain in the butt having to convert things, don't know why the world doesn't standardize, would make life simpler!

    Low pressure multi angle clamp
Hi Guys, Many times I have had to clamp something but unable to get the angle I wanted. So I have come up with this idea. I don't know if it Will work as I have not got anything to make it with at the moment. The idea is you make a frame around the object using different length pieces of frame at different angles and tighten the frame using bolts and wing nuts tightly. Then use a long bolt to clamp the object. Using a combination of lengths , bolt holes ,and angles it should be possible to clamp most things. Hopefully. Martin555.

Looks very good, and it's 'authentically positioned' too. I'm sure that the 'why is it offset' question will crop up from time to time from admirers so be prepared to tell them the reasons ๐Ÿ˜€. Keep up the great work. Robbob.

    EeZeBilts From Keil Kraft
Here is a Shapeoko 2 - my eShapeoko is a similar machine - cutting steel. You will see that you need a decent spindle motor, which is not surprising. But the framework is adequately rigid. I have over-specced what I have to allow for expanding for future use. I would not be surprised to find that a machine which was limited to cutting balsa, plastics, obeche and light ply (which would cover the vast majority of marine modelling) could be sold for less than ยฃ100. Unfortunately, there are too few customers to make it worth designing such an item.

    Martin Westquay's Piper Cub ;-)
Found a muffler locally and have fitted it. Put a carb full of fuel down its little gob , flicked it and Gor Blimey it ran for 5 seconds at least. Hasn't turned in donkey's years! So IC it is. Just started covering it in Solartex. An ancient roll I've had for years too. Bought originally to cover the cockpit area on my model of Miss Britain III, so almost none missing from the roll. Had trouble with wrinkles, but then found I was using the iron too cool. Turned it up and last night it all went well. Martin

    Jotika
Last year I ordered the decking for my Sea Queen from Jotika. I have tried contacting them about this shipment which was Posted International tracked and signed for. I can't get a positive response on this All I need is the tracking number but it looks as it was never posted! I have been trying to get answers from Jotika with no luck at all. This is very poor service. I don't know what to do from South Africa.

Mine were left in the workshop for about a month, possibly longer, before being put in the oven for a couple of hours. The problem with the last casting was that the Plaster of Paris was too old.
