    Relax for a few days.
Hi Wolle, you have transformed a topic of pleasure and entertainment into a very useful database of fishing boat photos. If I intended to design a trawler from scratch and needed some ideas, this collection of photos would be essential. I think it is also useful for those who have already purchased drawings or a kit, in any case they are simply beautiful to look at. Unfortunately, in a few months, it will be difficult to find them in the forum because the word fishing boat does not appear in the title. Maybe I'm wrong and maybe I'm not capable, but the search field only works for words in the title and not in the text. It is a pity that this original photographic material is not accessible to everyone over time. You could probably get around the problem by recreating a topic with the specific title (for example: Collection of photos of fishing boats) and reinserting all these magnificent photos there. In this case, even after a year if a forumer is interested in fishing boats by inserting the words "fishing boat" in the search field he will immediately find your topic. I understand that this can be a lot of effort and a lot of hassle so go ahead and swallow this crazy idea of mine and thank you already for sharing these photos here.

Hi Rowen, welcome back. Long time no hear. How's it going? Sarik have a plan. I take it you mean the 1947 build. Original YB, 1938, sank in WW2 after hitting a mine in the Humber estuary. Cheers, Doug๐Ÿ˜Ž https://www.sarikhobbies.com/product/m-v-yorkshire-belle-plan-mm1521

    Deans Marine
Many years ago I purchased some resin parts for a model boat I was building, when they arrived they were still sticky and had the firmness of a wine gum. Most were deformed. I phoned up the factory and was told that Ron Dean was away at a trade show in Germany. I asked for a replacement or a refund and was told to F*** off. The following week I again phoned up to complain to R Dean. He defended his worker and implied that I was at fault however he would send some replacements. When they came they were nearly as bad as the originals. The most annoying thing is that I could make the parts much better myself. I had assumed that so called "professionally" made would be better than mine. I learnt some valuable lessons that day 1. is look before you spend serious cash and 2. I won't ever buy from Deans Marine again.

Doug, Sorry for interrupting, I'm sure the component you referenced is a great product. But ... Your comment "But if you want good solid reliable British engineering" made me chuckle. I have been an auto enthusiast for many years, and this quote pretty much reflects my gut reaction to British electronics ... "Lucas - earned a reputation as the โ€œPrince of Darknessโ€ in not only Jaguars but in all manner of vehicles produced in Great Britain. Rovers, MGโ€™s, Triumphsโ€ฆ anything that had Lucas in them.. Austinโ€™s you name it if it had Lucas Electrics in it.. you would be most fortunate if the switch you flicked on - actually worked.." I am aware that times change, and you were making reference to entirely different components. It just struck me as funny, and I thought I'd share my reaction. Now, "Back to regular programming". Dave B PS I very much appreciate the info shared here. I appreciate the experience and expertise of the members on this site, and have learned a lot!

    Fighting Lights
Many thanks for the quick replies. If these lights were just high up extra navigation lights, it will be an easy fix to just wire them up with the cabin navigation lights. A bit of a let-down really as I was about to try and program a pic integrated circuit to sent out some morse !! A very big learning curve, except that I used to send out morse code as an amateur radio operator in the past as G4ZSS. It will be easy to have a switched circuit to switch these extra mast head lights on/off. Thanks for the interest I look forward to anymore comments, all the best, steve.

Hermank you are in a great place, I wish I had one as I have to organize almost a military expedition if I want to find a quiet place to sail. The measurements of this artificial lake are optimal.

    The Swedish galleon VASA
Good evening to all naval modelers. For those interested in the history of this emblematic galleon I found this interesting videos on YouTube. I didn't put all the links to the various parts. There are many. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yknLUNgMqOI&t=587s https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wp37g7Edjpo&t=8s https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jH9wjBM7bFE

    Opening of the season
Ahahahahahah Hermank, you're always the same. I'm glad you appreciate Italy. I am proud of my nation, of the treasures it holds, of its history, of the men who made it great but I am also very self-critical. In this lake (which is actually artificial) inside a city park I would like to see more education and civilization. When I hear about the proverbial English education and respect for rules I am very envious. In Italy there is not much respect for the rules unfortunately and this is my regret. In Belgium you will certainly be more compliant than us with the rules and with respect for others. Anyway, congratulations to you who have created an excellent place for RC models to sail, very good.

    laser tachometer
Thanks Commodore-H for sharing this item. In fact it can be very useful to know the number of revolutions in different working conditions. It could be useful to check the effectiveness of the applied propeller or otherwise. Are you planning on doing any specific tests? If you run any tests I would be happy to see them. If you can, make videos.

I think you would have needed a bigger crane that that to lift the NOT a Sea Rover onto the water. But what ever she is she is a wonderful looking build so far. Do you want the phone number of Ainscough Cranes.

I looked up on YouTube the answer to my question ๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ what does the kit look like out of the box? There is a 1/72nd kit by Airfix and some have converted it to RC but yours is not one of them. What I discovered was that the box was almost empty! Only a molded hull and abs formed superstructure which requires the builder to mark and cut out hatches, windows and other details. Anyone taking on this task is in for a pile of work. I know you inherited this model and stripped it down to create the finished product but even that takes patience, know how, and the ability to scratch build. Itโ€™s no wonder you are receiving many accolades and slaps on the back! Hats ๐ŸŽฉ Off to your excellent craftsmanship. I salute ๐Ÿซก you too. Ron
