Hi I have 3 working, 2 building, 2 restoration projects,1 maybe(I cutout the frames and keel) and plans of the Sea Queen, Sea Rover and would like to rebuild the Sea Hornet, but, 25% larger!! How many will never get built in the 64 dollar question!!!!!
I think if you dont know the answer off the top of your head is possibly to many.
I had a database of my fleet, all indexed with setups, condition, if they needed any work, ones i wouldnt sell ones i might sell, what i might like in the future. Thats long out of the window now.
Is there a too many number? I dont want to start adding my collection up, its well over 50, and 45 of those would be ready to sail at a moments notice.
This could become like an AA meeting, Hi Im Bob and I have a problem......
OK, I have three Tugboats one cabin cruiser and one speed boat! And if you saw the amount of room I have, you would wonda how. Of course let's not forget the two 43" barges I have! And two foam Barges There is no set number to how many you have it's a hobby! Did I neglect to mention it's addicting.......... Where's my next Build? LOL😁 Oop's I forgot to mention one foam pier!

One 34" Fireboat
One 34" Huntsman
One 34" Perkasa
One 28" Huntress
Now she wants me to get rid of them all if possible, as I don't get out enough to sail them since my spinal condition worsened. But my normal reply to the question of how many models one bloke should have is... How ever many he has at the moment... plus one 😎
Funny, I was in a supermarket with the wife last night & this woman was having a right go at her husband saying he already had enough "toys" !!!
I just had to go up to her & say "sorry love, a man just can't have enough toys"
Even she had to laugh as everyone else was 👍
Cheers
Wayne
1 working (but needs a plaster) 2 not working (future projects) 1 on it's way to me (will be working within a week) and i'm looking for another - i've just gone completely hatstand since I bought my first boat several weeks ago.....I downsized to a bungalow now I may need to move again to a storage container!! :-)
Too Many! I have probably around 5 working (a 6th for sale) and am building an aeronaut pilot and am scratch building a sailing yacht, with infinate more planned! XD
Interesting topic. It would be great if all the models appeared in individual member's profiles under Boats in Harbour. A quick check of those who have posted already suggests many do not post the details. I rarely count the number of models and projects but I have 20 in my harbour and about half as many again under construction or awaiting restoration. Fortunately I have a large shed to store them all as well as space in the loft for the hulls awaiting to be built. Is it too many?, possibly but there is still room space for more but my age is beginning to work against me! Dave
Well. Having listed my fleet earlier, I bought a couple of "to do" Veron Police launches on eBay earlier in the week. When collecting them, Ross said "I have a few more to get rid of for a friend of mine", and that, as they, is history. I left there with, and added to my fleet...
2 x Veron Thames Police Launch.
1 x 34" PT 109 (scratchbuilt).
1 x Vosper RTTL (kit unknown).
1 x 46" Aerokits RAF Fire/Crash Tender.
Those of you who are paying attention, will not I have just doubled my fleet. And with another 46" fire tender on the horizon, my total will be up to 11 now (only actually 3 in sailing condition), but lots of projects and "to do's" in store.
Best wishes, Dave W. 😊
I have two sailing boats, two tugs, one trawler, one pilot boat, one speedboat all working. Restoring one robbe dusseldorf, building one tamar lifeboat, helping my son with a 48" perkasa and I have two lesro fire tenders waiting to be restored and a steam launch to build and now I am wondering why I keep looking at other boats and dreaming. Good job my wife understands, I just can't help myself!
I've just been informed by my wife that I forgot to mention a small hydrofoil, a pond yatch and a small glassfibre hull that I had forgot about. O well blame my old age!
I have two working, one almost there and another scratch built coming up, plus 5 static models. We are strange folk, but must have something in common to be building and sailing them.
I've got about twelve boats and there was a group of us boaters but each went other ways i.e. Radio Cars lorries and planes. So I have not been sailing for about five years.
We have just moved house so I (and my wife) are now fully aware of the true situation. I (that is we ) have :- 3-46" fireboats 4-34" fireboats 1-Sea Queen 1-Sea Scout 1-Sea Hornet ,which is unbuilt 1-RM2, which I have owned since about 1964 1-Snoopy hydroplane 1-OS Max 40 powered multi racer from the 1980s 1-54" offshore racer which needs building ...and I just bought a 46" fibre glass crash tender hull
A couple are electric but mostly diesel, petrol or glow powered ,including, Super Fury, Racers, Hunters, Frog, McCoy, Merco, a Force 10 and a Gannet. The "problem" would appear to be growing, I recently built a Peacemaker control liner and bought a Pinto 1/2A team racer on Ebay....I can sense the rocket approaching !!
Since my post in April (which was bad enough!) I've acquired a 1:35 Elco PTB, and HMS Prince of Wales and RMS Titanic at 1:350 for Plastic Magic conversion. 😲 Merry Christmas everybody, Doug 😎
Oh! Did I mention the 1:48 DeHavilland Mosquito, a MONSTER THING? My Dad's favourite aircraft after the Spitfire, he worked on both in WW2.

Approx. 16 working and 3-4 under construction, how many on stock to be build / refurbished who knows but more than 8 and then there are all the drawings for new projects 😎
I’ve got about 14 running and a barge to build. Problem now is there used to be a group of us but they have gone on to other things so I am thinking of selling some,we shall see.
Good job I only got interested fairly recently and have other interests otherwise I'd be knocking on the door of too many!
Over about 18 months I've bought a ready built Huntsman 31, Huntress and a sailing yacht (my only digression), a Spearfish II kit, recently started building a Swordsman 33 and about to start a Huntsman 28.
Future plans are a smaller scale Huntsman 31 (existing one is too big for me at 46") and 2 or 3 other Faireys are at the idea stage.
Wait for it Chris! Carry on at that rate and you'll soon be as bad as the rest of us - double parking them in duplex berths! 👍 Know what you mean about size. I'm looking for ways to lighten my 50 to 55" warships and have moved from 72 scale to 144 and 350 for the big guys - carriers and battleships 😉 Cheers Doug 😎
