Yep,I get Pinterest too, but they also mix in some of that cargo, too, which is a bit embarrassing if the Mrs. just walks in. On another boaty place people are saying the finish is too difficult! Epoxy and yacht varnish is all I ever used. Yes,if it's to be varnished it has to be well made, but so what? Does that mean all the tankers and lifeboats are badly made and covered in filler and paint?
Anyway, thanks for your efforts, Doug. All encouragements to make woodies gratefully received.
This is one I'm working on currently, when I can reach it off the top shelf! A Greavette Gent's racer, Double Time. Canadian graceful of Gravenhurst.

Cheers,
Martin

Nice boat👍 Get the Missus to give you a bunk up to it! 😁
It's not so much the finish, I might manage that😉, but the precision woodwork that daunts me - and I suspect many others.🤔
Cheers, Doug 😎

Doug, I do most of that with veneers, which just require a sharp scalpel. No need for too much precision woodwork, but if there is, you just treat the timber as metal, using metalworking tools to cut and work it. It really isn't difficult. What MIGHT put some people off are all those shiny deck fittings and hull furniture. They have to be done by hand in brass, then polished, then sent off to be plated. Each of my Rivas had over 150 separate pieces of polished brass and nickel silver to be plated!

Can't stand country music, even if the word rock is attached. In fact when I was having my stent fitted they were playing Eric bloody Clapton! Ye Gods to think he used to play in Cream, the greatest ever supergroup. I jokingly castigated the surgeon for this calumny and with a typical Indian head nod he said, "So bring your own bloody music next time". Wonderful response.

Ah, Lake Tahoe's trump card, Thunderbird. I prefer the smaller version called Thunderchick. Seems less blingy somehow, but Thunderbird is quite a boat, albeit very much changed since its original form.
