Has anyone built or is anyone, apart from me, building a model of the large barge crane, Mersey Mammoth; now named, Lara 1?

I have a plan in 1:100 from the Dutch builders and various photographs but would be interested to hear from others tackling this project.

Another view.

Anyone recognise this model or its whereabouts?

Are there any clues in the source info of the photos if they are digital. May point you at a web site or forum.

Hello Steve

The photos given to me are prints. Clearly someone was at a show or event and decided to take a snap or two of the model. No date on the photo and nothing in the background to suggest where or when.

Toby

Ps

Do you know how to delete posts on this forum. I may as well take off the posts where the photo does not load correctly.

A ha!
I have just received from a friend a scan of a crumpled clipping from some magazine.
It would seem it was taken at a boat show in Ellesmere Port. I have googled but although shown are models none show the crane. What year, i have no idea.

According to the text the model was that belonging to the late Eric Bell and which had been loaned to the show by a Dave Morris.

Now to find out who is this Dave Morris and whether he still has the model.

Thanks Steve,

The method of deleting/ modifying you cite is not showing on my mobile device. I will check later to see if i have on a pc; rarely use a pc so could be an improvement to website to make the options available for mobile too.

Hi Toby,

I help around the website!
Maybe I can help you!
What post do you need Deleted?
Is it the one where you say
"Not sure if the previous photo works."
I'll Delete it for you if you want!

Cheers, Ed

Hello Ed,
Thank you for your message.

There are two posts to be removed.
One as you correctly assumed is the one, " not sure if...." and the other is, "i was given this photo..."

Thanks

Toby
