Still very much work in progress This Sea Sea Ranger is built from an eBay "Aerokits plan" which has some subtle differences presumably to get around copyright. The cabin sides below cockpit window had a reverse curve to the original but it was not difficult to undo this modification Well the sea ranger if now complete finished I a Ford maroon colour Belco paint been on the shelf since the early 90s plus some more before I inherited it, the cabin sides are cream self mix into a Crown paints b/w sample pot. Cabin rooves sprayed with white aerosol. The original motor at 3100kv was far too powerful so a silly little out runner has replaced it.

The Clyde Puffer is a Caldercraft kit of 1:32 scale. It is a representative model of a typical small coaster from the Western Isles of Scotland, known to many ship lovers as a 'Clyde Puffer'. It has a GRP hull which has full external detail, riveting, strakes etc. and a plywood superstructure and decking plus over 200 white metal fittings. As usual for Caldercraft you need to have your thinking cap on as the A0 plan and the 'instruction book' do not match up but of course they do expect you to have a little bit of experience in model building. It has taken me about 6 months to build, but working on and off over this time. It has a large hull which is easy to house the motor, ESC, RC and batteries, etc. (I installed 2 lead acid 6 volt batteries, one on each side amidships) which gives stability and ballast. Being a large deep hull it needs a lot of ballast, even in its short length. I have only tested her in the big white test tank at home so do not know how it will perform on our lake. I have sailed her many times on our lake and she certainly sails well. I installed an electronic switch for the navigation lights and gives a good effect during the darker afternoons/evening.

Built from GRP bits supplied by Willen Lake Mbc Member In 2005 The Irvine engine, an eBay purchase unused and in its original box, is easy to start as it has a ringed piston and never a problem to get it onto the water. Radio gear is now 2.4ghz Futaba FS607. This one has been to the bottom of the lake after mounting a buoy. And back thanks to a friendly customer who did scuba diving for his retrieval efforts and twenty minutes below the surface.

Built in 2008 as a Z Class from fibreglass hull moulded by Willen lake Mbc member and fitted with cut down Cavalier deck and cover. Z class was for engines .12cu inch so I purchased my very first new engine an ASP12 watercooled, all kit up until this time had been sourced second hand. With a tuned pipe installed off to the lake we went. Needless to say it wasn't brilliant compared to the boats now being fitted with geared drive and bigger props,I was using 29mm & 32mm. In 2010 I converted it to the current brushless setup and it is still a boat that I would regularly take to the lake. It is a good talking point and the public do love to ask questions.

Purchased at Henly on Thames wooden boat show in May 2016 again by my brother in law who likes to see me recycle old model boats. Thin GRP hull with stess fractures one mast and one thick canvas sail. Hull was coated with polyester resin and model aircraft wing cloth rubbed down and recoated with another application of resin rubbed down and painted with three coats Yellow machinery enamel after having been redecked with 1/16" ply fitted out with four turn sail winch and standard Futaba servo for rudder via flexible cable connection. As there are no restrictions on sail sizes and the original mast was in three sections at 196cm I replaced the centre 40 cm shorter in effect creating a no2 or B rig from Mylar type plastic sheet. Jib and Main made from four panels each and using a Claudio Gadget to create a curve in each sail. Having sailed on very calm day several issues presented themselves which need to be addressed in the sail department. Not too many photo's of this type about but I have found one on MYA website which I shall use to to make amendments i.e. new sails and gooseneck.

Model kit made on or about 1969 by defunct German firm 'Robbe' based upon Chris Craft Roamer motor yachts of the era. Hull appears inspired on 1950s Chris Craft Constellation series. Deck appears to be inspired on mid-late 60's Chris Craft "Roamer" yachts. Model tried to emulate a 46 feet version. Approx. 1/20 scale. Real life dimensions would be nearly 46 x 15.83 feet. Authentic Chris Craft Roamer 46 measured 46 x 15 feet. Completion time: nearly 2 months

I got this boat off of a model boat club member for my son about 15 years ago, he used it about six time the put it on the shelf in the garage and that's where it has sat ever since. so the other day lifted it down and looked at it, dusted it off and going to see if I can get it working, if so happy days I'll play with it till I can get something of my own.

Bought many years ago from Martin Models at E Port spring show. Swapped with a friend who built the model. Now back in my possession following his death. Uses three internal tanks for water ballast plus about 1lb lead to bring to waterline. Has a Tomahawk smoke unit and smells like the real thing. Very stable on the water and looks the part.
