My first attempt at building a plastic hull proved difficult due to the bends and curves but the final result was satisfactory. The lighting system/circuit also proved a challenge but she looked well at a recent illuminated regatta. All in all I am quite pleased with the final result

Elco 32 Built from Model Boat Plan by GG, circa 1999 ish.. Very lively even with a 400 class motor direct drive. An excellent project for the newcomer, very easy build and a good stand-off scale appearance. Deck armament was from plastic kits, very close in scale for the finishing touch.

My 1st foray in boat building, a Kitshack RTTL. Since its first build the motors have been upgunned from JP480's to the brushless it currently has along gradually increasing battery performance from NiMH to 11.1 Lipos. Twin props and rudder give this craft superb control on a straight run or cornering, no digging in, no torque roll and boy does it plane

Scallywag is my second model, I came across an old Model boats magazine from 1988 that had a copy of the original plan designed by David Metcalfe and surprisingly managed to get and ABS hull. Very pleased with the results. The wheelhouse has a hinged door and seat locker and even a working compass! In addition I have fitted a sounder unit (can't remember the manufacturer)

This model is 1/25 scale scratch built from a James A. Pottinger drawing of the only Scottish Herring drifter (Fyffie) left. Now a museum piece and moored in Anstruther harbour she is often sailed to various boat festivals and regatta's, as a prime example of our fishing industry history. I still have to master the sail set up .
