Oppie
Way back when, there used to be a company producing grp hulls, they were based in Holyhead(?) or nearby, the business was sold, and I discovered they had some pieces for the Oppie, I bought them, constructed the model, sailed it, was impressed, so much so I embarked on the construction of the other exact 1:4 scale models.

Steam Power
Not strictly marine based, but the Stuart D10 is destined for a 1:12 Customs Launch, Active, built by Cox & Co Falmouth 1912, and stationed at Gravesend until the '30's.
Kit of castings, machined and built by myself along with the horizontal engine.
The others have been bought at knock down prices over the years!
They all need sprucing up!
The boiler was bought several years ago from an Australian outfit, at the time it seemed incredibly cheap, but was probably caused by the exchange rates between the Australian dollar and the pound!
It came complete with lagging, planking and other bits and pieces, cannot be exact as I cannot find the box with the pieces in, cannot remember if it was complete with burner!
I now have the thermal blocks (ex night storage heater) to construct a hearth to continue with the installation etc.
Photos of 'Active' to follow it is stored at the club house!

Oystercatcher
Here we have Oystercatcher, another product of the noughties.
The full size boat is designed for inland waters, weekend cruising, it can be used as a floating tent using the spars and sails.
Designed by Conrad Natzio of East Anglia, it is designed for garage construction, using 6 sheets of marine ply or even water resistant ply.
I met Conrad at an exhibition at Alexandra Palace, had a chat with him was given plans of several of his designs, chose to build Oystercatcher, kept in touch and was invited to a weekend expo at Beale Park, adjacent to the Thames, he used my model on his stand, a very nice man!
The model is an exact scale of 1:4, I enjoyed the build, but the control was not an easy installation, the boat being so open.
Went on to sail her at an exhibition held in Swansea at the Maritime Museum, they had a pond there so was able to try sailing, it worked well, but I felt I needed to add a keel to bring a little more stability, but house moves etc got in the way.
Makes a nice static model!
I will endeavour to get more photos when the wind is calmer!

Mini Submarine
Another toy, courtesy of Amazon 7 or 8 years ago.
I bought the beast for about ยฃ12 / 15โฌ. It was on offer!
I use it at model exhibitions where there is a pool.
The sub is about 15cm/6" in length, complete with basic r/c system.
It will sail forwards and reverse, turns to the right and left courtesy of water jets, and by use of 2 buttons on the top corners will submerge and resurface. It has rechargeable batteries inside, these are recharged by use of a fly lead from the tx!
The main users are children and sometimes adults who want to have a go!
It generates lots of interest, so much so that sometimes children join the club and go on to build small freelance fishing boats - the majority of models are fishing and military boats, we have the Brest naval base close by and several fishing ports.

1:4 scale Clinker Dinghy
Built around 2000 whilst I worked as a Technician in the Design Technology section of a local senior school, built at home, but with pieces produced in the woodworking shop, having access to a plethora of workshop equipment!
Sailed somewhat unsuccessfully back then, I had problems finding sail material for its Bermudan rig, my idea was to convert to gaff style rig, never got around to it, however now with more choice sail cloth wise I might have another go, however my sailmaker died some time ago!
The major problem sailing was the launching and retrieving, the weight was around 8 - 9 kgs(18lbs), and with age that is probably more of a problem, although here in France there is more attention given to those sort of problems!
The model won a gold award at a model show in Concarneau in 2003, after which I was invited to join my local club in Chateaulin -- the best move I made!

Two Sea Queens
I mentioned the Sea Rover Earlier. These two Sea Queens I picked up a few years ago. Both are still in existence. I own the smaller one in front. The 46" was sold. It had a 4 stroke Gannet Engine in, which was taken out and it now runs with a 550 electric which is way under powered.
The 32" in front is to become a "Wedding Boat" and rented out for weddings. The idea is to change the roof colours to match the colours of the bride, and the couple's name will be on the side near the bow.

Another unique model.
3D Printed outboard motor with remote trim and tilt.
Pilot turns his head to see where he's going and the lady waves at the spectators.
Other than being fast and slippery, this model is 1:10 scale.
Trailer and Crawler donations welcome.

RV Northern Observer
This is one of the most complex models I have built. From an original Tug, this Research Vessel is equipped with a working gantry and winch, and a port side crane. It is capable of lowering a FPV submarine off the stern, and a shark cage with a diver inside off the port side.
It has a leak in the prop shaft, but a bulk head contains the water in the aft of the hull. A float switch activates the bilge pump (or harsh braking) It has internal, deck and nav lights. An FPV Camera on the bridge and runs on three sets of batteries.
Internal cabin lights can be turned on remotely, but bridge lights are manually turned on.
It has an Amber strobe light for diving operations and a remotely controlled PA system for announcements and warnings.
Power supply:
1. 12V SLA for motor
2. 12V SLA for bilge pump
3. 6V SLA for Lights and RX
Scale is 1:48

Shrimp fishing boat Capt CJ
I purchased this scale boat back in 2021 from an old gentleman who has researched, designed and scratch built it ( and many others ) to represent an actual boat that was located in Pine Island Florida.
It is powered by a water cooled brushless motor. Battery is a 2S ( 7.4 v ) LiPo battery ( a 3S was way too much for it ) and it is still very fast. I run it at scale speed and the duration approaches an hour run time ( including headlights. I also have an FPV camera which I use occasionally. It is solid in the water and handles waves well. Just a fun ship.
Unfortunatly, the real boat was destroyed during hurricane Ian in 2022.

Svitzer FERRIBY an ASD tug
I saw this tug working in Southampton. Its lines were striking to my eye so had to build it. FERRIBYโs Mate was very generous with his time providing me with photos & dimensional information for the real tug.
I have not had much sailing time with it due to initial esc failures (since resolved) & itโs 32 lb weight. The little I did run it showed extremely good maneuverability & the need for much practice at the helm.
The hull is Gary Kingโs TIGER SUN greatly modified to become FERRIBY. All else scratch built.

Kayak
Strip built kayak based on plans from the book "Strip built Sea Kayak" by Nick Schade. Built at 1/6th scale using traditional full sized strip building method.
All propulsion and steering by means of paddle (no prop!), with some assistance from the rudder. Original paddle motion was with motor driven mechanism, subsequently replaced with microchip controlled servo mechanism.
Kayaker is known as Katie!

Barge/ Lighter
Having built my Bangkok tug, it needed something to tow! In real life these little tugs get harnessed ,with others ,to 300 ton barges! In 1:24 scale Such a barge would take up a lot of lake,so Iโve been building the MMB Thames lighter. Cheated a bit and used the Sarik plans and laser cut frames, and then clad it in 1.5 mm obeche.
Once primed ,Iโll have to play with ballasting. Iโve made two shallow drop in trays with real gravel glued on.
More in due course

IngaIV
The IngaIV was an excellent kit originally many years ago and this shows in the build quality that remains in the purchased hull and deck that arrived by carrier from an online auction site. A good scrub of the decking and a coat of paint on the hull. I made the sails and masts, plus the rigging. Never dealt with a yacht before so it was a steep learning curve, enjoyed every stage and took 8 weeks to maiden voyage which went well and I can say was a success

27โ Monterey Clipper
My build of the US famous Monterey Clipper. There was a fleet of these fishing boats along the north coast of California extending to Bodega Bay, northward. San Francisco had the largest fleet with several shipyards, Hicks engine shops, & other chandeliers to service them. The history of the Monterey is far too long to describe here. I can be contacted to provide excellent references to consult.
