GALA DAY VARIOUS - Posted: 4 days ago by Les-Forbes
Knightswood Boating Club Glasgow. A pipe band was in attendance today, making the fun and excitement even more intense. Why did I think this was going to be a small affair. I was so wrong. Well done Knightswood Boating Club.

GALA DAY VARIOUS - Posted: 4 days ago by Les-Forbes
Knightswood Boating Club Glasgow. Part 2. Again, great day with smashing stalls and a childrens play centre, with Knightswood Club providing a variety of small power boats for the children to get "Hands On' experience. It was a joy watching their faces when they realised it was THEM that was actually sailing the boat's. My only regret I didn't have my small grandson with me.

Knightswood Boating Club Glasgow. Great day out for everyone, from babies, children and those who should know better. Smashing atmosphere and I got a free coffee just for being there.

TB 1 HMS Lightning (1878) A - Posted: 15 days ago by Cadet
Acquired as an empty hull a year ago. It measures 5'6" from stem to stern and was steam powered. It is carved out of one piece of timber. Now electric powered and using 12v invalid battery. If I can extract the picture from the computer I will include it !! If I can't you can do your own research.

Here I have some food for inspiration. This is a tourist boat operating in Ocean City, Maryland (USA). It takes people by the coast and to watch the dolphins. Quite unusual and cool.

Thames River Police Launch - Posted: 2 months ago by Northumbrian
Dave W
I hope this helps if not let me know & I will take more pictures
i was able to put a high deck in because of the size of the hull
it might be difficult to do this with the smaller hull take a look on SLEC they do the River Police Launch (last picture)it appears to to be risen at the front to take the motor etc

The Vintage Model Boat range are now being produced by SLEC Ltd. All our kits come with all parts cut by CNC router or laser, plus all the necesary strip wood is included, along with building instructions and plan.

The River Police Launch has been based on the old Veron Kit from the 1960's that we all loved at that time. The model is not a scale model but embraces the boat design of that era. The kit is now fully laser cut so all parts are pre-cut and most of the parts are now made out of high quality ply, so obtaining a good finish is easier to achieve. The model can be powered by a 7.2 volts standard buggy battery pack or ic power of .5-1.5 cc engines which is not in the kit, also we have not included any running fittings as we feel a lot of modellers will have or would like to choose for themselves, but we can supply these fittings if required.

All done
I am just waiting for the next fine day to give it a try out at the lake,
My next build is going to be a Thames Barge (last picture) the cardboard templates are cut ready to try then a friend is going to cut them in 6mm laser ply with his laser cutter

It's looking nice Northumbrian. I have an original Veron that I found that is awaiting "refurbishment". I bought it because the model was the very first boat I ever built, as an 11 year old. I would like to see a pic of the power train and radio placement if possible. I have been trying to work out how to hide as much as possible, and I notice you have put a "high deck" in yours. Best of luck with the maiden voyage, Dave W.
