Her Majesty's Savior - Posted: 6 months ago by RedRider
This is a Dumas Coast Guard Life boat lit given to me from my now wife for Christmas 2014. I've scratch built model planes (50 years ago) but never a boat. So, I'm learning on the job, as they say. Just started on the power train this past week before I do any top deck work.

What brushless motors you using, and how long running time as I'm very tempted to put them in the monster Mersey after the trials with brushed motors, because at 78" long & 90 mm props it might be costly
Response by SkipperVGMBC on the 16th Oct 2016
Hello Skegness..I am using 2 E-Max GT2820/7 brushless Motors. These Are UK purchased from BRC Hobbies (based Northolt) Cost £20.95 each.. these are 850 KV..using Twin Mystery RC 70A Forward Backward 2-7s Brushless ESC (with Ubecc) about £20 or less on EBay (HK).

Run Time..1 Hour, mix of fast and slow Sailing..Depends on use.
Using 2 X 7.2 NMH Volt Battery Packs..at 5000mah each.

She Goes Like fast, and cuts through water lovely.
Have A Similar Setup (Different Emax Motors) In my Models By Design Interceptor 42 Boat (42 inch length)..Tooo Fast for me..lol..Any Other Info PM me for phone number..Happy Sailing

Now that I done skegness lifeboat day I can get on to finish what needs to be done & hopefully before Xmas I can have her on the water, the crew at skegness loved the model as a whole and even the mayor of skegness liked it,but now time to get down to the nitty gritty and get her ready for the water.

Hi. Is this the one that Peter Sneddon used to own? Seen pictures of her before and was very impressive at 9ft long overall.
Response by skegness on the 23rd Aug 2016
Not known when I got it she was a wreck, and I am still refurbishing her,I was told that it was in a garden for over 4 1/2 yrs uncovered in Scotland so I set about bringing her back to near on original state she was first in

The original builder put all interior in as per the real boat, but lots of it was broken off and just lying around so I repaired what needed doing then put it back to where it was supposed to go,I was very lucky that I know the original builder and he sent me the photo build of the boat, talus & carraige
Response by jarvo on the 29th Jun 2016
