Jose Miguel:
Looking at your knuckleboom crane, tells me that you are a great craft master.
I will be facing soon the same situation.
My crane is made in your homeland I believe.

Empire Raymond. - Posted: 3 years ago by lubberland
HI All, E.Raymond Is 36 Inches long x 9 Inches beam. She Is scratch built, plank on frame with 3mm ply deck. I made her from the Cervia plans and enlarged them to 36 Inches. She has a 540 type motor which I rewound with 80 turns of 30swg wire, for more torque. She has a 4 blade prop 60mm diam. and powered by a 6v 4amp SLA battery. I started the build last March, she's not quite finished yet, needs an anchor winch making and a set of tyres on the sides and other small details. I sail her at Holyhead Breakwater Park when I can.

Response by lubberland on the 24th Apr 2015

Northsider built from a Tyne Model kit
History M.T. Northsider & M.T. Ironsider:

Batey Tug Co. Ltd., at a cost of £106,500. Then chartered to the Tyne & Wear Tug Co. Ltd., working on the Tyne for harbour towage. Also visiting other UK and European ports during many coastal tows. After a long and eventful service on the Tyne, sold In 1996 to BaltagI Pilots In Bahrain and renamed 'BaltagI 6' there It remains In service today. M.T. Ironsider Completed September 1967, a sister ship to the Northsider, also chartered to the Tyne Wear Tug Co. Ltd., until 1992. Then sold to Proodos Maritime Co., Piraeus and renamed 'MegaloharI 12' still In service today.
Both tugs are similar to Alexandra Towings Tug, 'Sauria' which, was based at Felixstowe, UK. .

I have 18 boats ..................Yes 18 , and Im still married lol !
Love this boat , just going through a re fit , power wise etc,
just was not powerful enough. and too clean .
so decided to try my hand at weathering .
a bit daunting building something "pristine '' Ish
then trying to make It better by roughing It up .
