Queen Of Light - Posted: 17 days ago by NorfolkBroads
This is a self project build, to scale of the famous 1930s Norfolk Broads Cabin Cruiser 'Queen Of Light'. Every detail on the model externally is as per the real craft. With her scale dinghy in tow, on the Norfolk Broads. Both are constructed to 1:16 scale.

ST 200 - Posted: 1 month ago by colindavies
This model of Seaplane Tender 200 is another "loft rescue" that I have been asked to refurbish by its owner. This is a static model and along with his other models and mine we exhibit them at museum events to remind and educate people that the RAF used to have a Marine Branch for 68 years until its demise in 1986. Seaplane Tender 200 was the lead craft of the 200 Class Seaplane Tenders designed by Hubert Scott-Paine in the early 1930's. The L.o.a was 37ft 6in, beam 8ft 6in and draught 2ft 6in. powered by 2 x Meadows 828 100hp petrol engines with a range of 100miles. Now before the purists come along and say that the 200 class ST had enclosed wheelhouse not not an open backed one, ST 200 was the only one that was built that way the rest of the class had enclosed wheelhouse and walk through cabin. this model is 1:24 scale and is probably about 25 years old

ESSO CADILLAC - Posted: 1 month ago by oldcodger
I’ve always wanted to build a WW11 oil tanker of the type my father skippered during the war. It’s named after a tanker he left to go on leave. The crew didn't want him to leave as he would take their luck. It lies off the west coast of Scotland, the captain, a friend of the family, going down with her. It's not the actual Cadillac as it was an older ship, artistic license!

aero-naut mowe 2 kit. my first rc model boat with a few extras. The kit was ok to build but the prop coupling was a length of silcone tube ? it spun off at the first test run. This was the start of me fitting universal couplings to my boats. The company were being mean using a cheap piece of tube.It runs very quiet and smooth but needed a lot of front end ballast .i made this to try and drag my grandson away from his ipad, phone and the game of fortnite .I tried to get him to help build and run it but to no avail.I now am enjoying a second childhood building boat kits !

made from a krick felix launch kit.As usual i have made slight changes especially in regards to the final finish of medium oak stain.
The original windows were cut from a sheet using templates provided and some did not fit as they were on the small side.i used some plastic sheet i had to make my own replacements.I also changed the prop coupling for a universal joint(i always do)
I prefer the less is more approach to some models.

Such a great model and an even better story Alan, although there was a tragic and sad ending to the full size boat it is great to see such a fine model. Graham

Island Class cutters - Posted: 2 months ago by epmbcmember
This is what I wish to build at 1/48 scale. The Island class cutter is 110 feet long and serves with the United States Coast Guard Service, there are about 35 still in service and it is based on a Vosper Thornycroft design.

Very nice job Mike,👍👍
Hope the Danish fish cutter I'm currently renovating / rebuilding and converting from static to RC will turn out half as well as that! 😉
Can you 'sail' her as well as motoring?
Cheers, Doug 😎
