Hi
The hull is 1.260 long .
Mast is 1.5.
Dept is 270.
Bow sprit is 360 long.
It has lead in the keel and does not need a false keel for sailing.

Scratch built IOM; including sails. Had to have a go after seeing one that a club member built. Made mostly from cedar venetian blinds. Sails well, I'm just not too good racing it but occasionally get reasonable placing.

You could also try Nylet - www.nylet.co.uk They have a selection of Marblehead sails. I have just purchased some for a hull that I was given.
Response by Northumbrian on the 16th Apr 2017
I buy all my sails from PJ SAILS they are reasonable although the waiting time for sails can be lengthy

Kit [Robbe] I didn't built it myself. I removed the motor and screw. So the only power is wind power. And I've equipped the boat with a sailor and a flag. When zoom in on the last picture, you see that he is also provided with a crate of beer.

Bought this from a charity shop in Gillingham. Put in new prop shaft motor and servo's etc. She is a very heavy boat and sits a little low in the water, want to use it for the lights on the lake events eventually.

Another winter project for myself this time. Twin brushless motors/ESC's all water cooled. Interior and deck lights got some figures for deck then onto the lake when the weather breaks.

HI there, the motors are Leopard LBP 4074-1400 with 100a ESC's of off EBay using metal u/j's to the drive as supplied in the kit by Robbe. Brian

Extremely modern, well worth a second look. Job well done!
Response by sharpy1071 on the 12th May 2016
Thank you figtree7nights, up for sale now!! It's stupid on 4 cells, mad on three but behaves very well on two. I sail it mainly on three cells as I have more 3 than anything else.

Margaret - Posted: 2 years ago by davet
Margaret is a 50 inch English cabin cruiser designed by John L Langord Glasgow Scotland. Plans for Margaret were sold by BasseiI Lowke . I bought a copy of the uriginal plans from The Mode; Dockyard
Margaret is powered by a TAYCOL suermarine electric motor and drive system
I purchased Margaret in August 2015 and have installed RC rudder control

Response by Northumbrian on the 27th Oct 2015
that is a good looking old fashioned broads cruiser & I like the motor just like the ones we used back in the 50s
no rc then though nice model well done 👍
Response by boaty on the 4th May 2016
😊 I like the model and the motor. Fondly remember Taycol motors in the 1960s. I had an Asteroid in a Veron Viceroy and cost a fortune in dry batteries though it was very enjoyable,

I remember the Basset Lowke ready to sail boats which I later found that the same models had been produced in the 1930s. Both models were 39 inches long and one of them ,Streamlinia was steam powered launch with a funnel to the aft of the main cabin and the other was a similar sized launch with a different superstructure and electric power.

I must say that Margaret is a masterpiece with traditional quality and detail and a power unit to match.

Does anyone know if Basset Lowke are still in business?

The last time I saw their name advertised was over 10 years ago when I saw a couple of new O gauge steam locomotives in a model shop

Regards

Boaty
