    Going back to the very beginnings of this post and thus very much on subject, looking anew at the run of the counter stern of this model it has much of the Essex Oyster Smack about it. They are still very much alive and kicking and although I don't think they do very much oyster dredging these days there are quite a lot of them still around the Colne, Blackwater area and regularly race together at various Smack races and regattas in that area and even in Kent there is a class for them at the Swale Barge Match. The rig is still the traditional
    Gaff Cutter
    so, for model purposes, much the same as a Pilot Cutter. I throw this in, not to muddy the waters even more, but to give you another approach to your dilemma.
