Aziz, Westerriff, Assurance Envoy for sale
These three boats are still for sale, with no offers to date. I am inviting offers, and I really am not looking to retire on the proceeds, and I will give very serious consideration to any offers received. I do need to make space in the very near future, and I guess Ebay or public
    auction
s may be the next move, however I would rather give a purchase opportunity to model boat enthusiasts prior to offering to the west of the world :-) . All three boats have been constructed to a very high standard, and are in exceptional order. The boats are located in Cheshire, South Manchester, close to the motorway network. Thank you, Dave

hi ya Colin - I had a good look round the web to try and find the instructions manual for your Futaba FP-T7 UPH and it keeps coming up with the links that I have already posted but there are also one or two links which the firewall wont allow me to open - it says its got virus' on - so I wonder what that one is. I did come across an
    auction
site - not Ebay - that had one for sale with the instructions and if you look at the instructions they are similar/same as the link I have already posted. So, I am wondering are these instructions for the two sets of transmitters - and possibly the one you have is an upgrade. I see on Ebay there is someone in USA who sells manuals on CD for around ยฃ8 if you desperate. Of all the transmitter manuals I have looked for this one is an oddball one for finding the manual. Happy days. John

    Help with vintage rc.
hi there I am in agreement with DodgyGeezer about the reliability of vintage radio gear. I believe the Digi4 servos were Linear movement, rather than rotary as in modern day servos and yes some of the old versions were 4 wire; with male plugs at the end. One of the main downfalls of these old sets was thing called 'black wire' its where the negative side wire in the electrical wiring system actually turns black and corrodes. The only way to repair it is to actually renew the wiring and once you have it in one part of your radio system, it inevitably works its way through the whole of your radio system. The transmitters do turn up on that popular
    auction
site. I have often fancied purchasing one just to play around with it - but I wouldn't trust one operating a precious model on the lake, because I can remember the 27 mghz radio gear being very prone to interference from the slightest thing.๐Ÿ‘ john

Forget it, it's just a little freehand turning lathe for hobby work in soft wood and other soft materials. Meant for craft jewellery and beading work. Look for something that has a traversing tool post with crosswise adjustment. I'm lucky enough to have my late father's Unimat with a screw cutting adapter as well as a milling attachment, for larger work I have a Chester universal combination lathe/milling machine. Found this kit on a well-known
    auction
site and bought it for ยฃ100. it is the original Robbe kit and fittings included. There was no command module and so I have devised a way of having working anchors, tow, crane and warning beacon, bow thruster, nav lights and searchlight. It was a bit of a struggle to balance her properly and she needs quite a lot of ballast. A real handful, you might say but she looks really well on the pond. Ebay Horrors
I saw an ad on Ebay listing a now discontinued Graupner kit of the Leanne Tรถn 12 shrimper and thought as it was no longer available I'd give it a try............mistake number one ! WHEN it finally arrived the box (water damaged) contained what the president of our model boat club described as 'a bag of bits' with about 40% of the parts missing and those that weren't were damaged in some way ie water damaged and warped. To cut a long story short, the seller was quite rude when I contacted him/her and refused point blank to refund my payment or accept a return. Furthermore I was accused of not sending true photographs of the contents of the package and denying other potential buyers the opportunity of bidding on this item. Finally, Ebay have considered this case and have ruled that not only is the item not as it was described , but that a refund must be made including the original postage fee. I realise that many unscrupulous sellers are of the mistaken belief that "NO RETURNS ACCEPTED" in their listing means just that, and that any old tat can be
    auction
ed, but unfortunately for this seller that is not the case. I sincerely hope that this person has learnt the lesson that is not wise to attempt to " bullshit a bullshitter!" Lesson over !

    mystery yacht
hi all. I have purchased a yacht hull and deck as my next project from that well known
    auction
site, but am struggling to find the maker or the name of the yacht?. it came complete with a fibreglass deck, measures 48" long 10" beam and 11" to keel bottom, I am sure some one out there knows what it is based on or who manufactured it. I have started the build and am going to loosely base it on the 1930 yacht enterprise, mainly the sail plan. have added a few photos if it helps thanks for any help. basilsdad

Boat very dusty/dirty but sound. it is from a Robbe kit that was around about 10 years ago and has timber decking, built-in auxiliary motor, navigation lights, etc. A deep clean followed by a re-paint of the superstructure, rub the decking down and varnish, followed by a complete rub down and re-paint of the hull brought her back to a fine yacht. She is about 40 inches in length and sails beautifully and has great presence on the water.

Hello, after a winter recess, started the inners furniture, Motor mount, Battery Box and Rudder servo box, plus a dab of paint here and there inside, i have found that a dab of paint inside does help with maintenance, especially when you loose something inside the hull, it tends to be more visible and things are easier to locate. One of the pics shows the Basset Lowke deck ventilators, these were a gift some years ago found in an

HI Brian Really nostalgic looking models. Clearly from the period you identify and can verify. If you like them they are worth keeping but I would suggest you insure them as separate items on your house insurance. Working tin-plate models in good condition, and one with original box, are not that common and could have a high value to collectors. Probably worth doing a bit more investigation and possibly seeking some professional help - local

Hulls are balsa and planked to 1st 1/4 then finished to the stern with with longer angle cut 'planks'. Cabin top is ply sides with balsa roof and deck is ply and has printed ? planking. Someone will know but I haven't been able to pin it down to any kit even after going through all my 60s and 70s Model Boat mags.

    Vosper Fast Patrol Boat P129
HI Fellow enthusiasts The first photo shows the boat as it was bought from an E Bay
    auction
in late February for the price of 14.50, for that price I had to bid on it, even thought I had a new kit of the same model on order from a model shop from the end of December, before VAT went up. The models turned out to be the 4 feet versions some 11 inch wide and now is about 19 inch high. This model turned up several days before the new kit turned up, and was a bit worse for ware than anticipated as the deck had started to part company from the hull. After stripping the deck of all remaining deck furniture the deck was re laminated to the hull, prop shafts and rudder tubes also refitted using plenty of resin and cloth. A rubbing strip was fitted around the deck hull line to tidy up the visible damage. When I was happy with repairs the hull and deck was rubbed down and sprayed. Using the information in the new kit and some photos of actual boats, MJB's (My junk boxes) supplied all the required parts to scratch build 90% of the models fittings as seen, this includes the figures on the deck. These being obtained off an EBay site as 1/24 unpainted train scene figures that required some or may be a lot of adjustments to their appearance. Several items have still to be made and fitted. As I'm working on her sister boat P147, will make extra parts in one go. The boat has twin electric drives, the motors, MFA 919D series, are fitted with their own 2.5/1 gearboxes and they drive 40 mm three bladed conta rotating brass props. They have independent 15 amp Electonize speed controllers run from two 7.2 volt packs in series. The switching arrangements for lighting has still to be finished off. Don't know if I'll fit a sound system as the boat is for my grandson. The boat has had several trips on the Society's water at Cwmbran with myself and my grandson at the helm. it seems to go fast enough for him. (The new boat P147 has been built with triple screws.) Can't wait to see both models on the water together. Hope you have enjoyed the pictures and information. Regards GreyWolf

Have now got the lower hull skins on...... much wailing and gnashing of teeth at bending the skin into the bow......think there must be an easier way with the upper skins......still it wouldn't be as satisfying if it was easy would it!!!

    Who Is building/restoring what fireboat?
Our RAF Collection About this time last year my friend brought an fireboat from an
    auction
. it was powered by an OS 30 engine and was in a bad condition. in the first couple of runs it went well but needed a lot of rescuing when it cut out. The cutting out was found to be caused by the non pressurised fuel tank. Over the summer he restored it to its original condition with new paint and new fittings. After seeing his boat I wanted one so I brought a deans marine seaplane tender kit. it took 2 months to build and I've spent the last 6 months experimenting with different power set ups. His dad then found a huge 46" unfinished RAF Safety Launch at a steam rally. Over the last fews months he's finished it of to a high standard but its just a bit slow powered by 2 540's. Back in January I found a 39" wooden hull on ebay, wanting a bigger boat won it for Aยฃ35. Over the last 2 months I've almost finished it, now theres just the windows and transfers to do. So far its cost me about Aยฃ120. We go to Bournville boating lake most weekends to use all of the boats and drive round in covoys. I have put a video of the seaplane tender and police boat in the video section and the power setups are on here. I would like to hear any comments on my boats. ๐Ÿ˜Š ๐Ÿšค
