Thames sailing barge Capricorn

Hi, in last wekend I participated in the open Footy in South Moravia, near Znojmo .. in Vyrovice , Vyrovice dam. The technique betrayed me, footy ruder servo burned during race. Then I participated in open regata with my barge Capricorn. it was my first race. my model also had the first opportunity to sail on "big water". It turned out that I need to adjust the sails to add and manage a large jib servo. Technique was against me once more..maybe battery collapsed after first round in second race. At home I found..battery Ok , but something collapsed .. Weather nice and hot, but the wind was very weak, so the models of the racing sailboats were the first .. Great boat😁. There are now nearly 20 in our club. Eastbourne & District Model Yacht Club. https://edmyc.org.uk/ Takes less than 30 seconds to dis-mast but mast does not collapse. There are plenty different sail bags available for easy damage free transportation however.👍 If you are looking for an easy to transport yacht then the Dragon Force is ideal as it fits on the back seat of the smallest of cars fully rigged. it sails almost as well as the Dragon Flite. The club hosting the Dragon Force National this weekend.

I have recently inherited my Dad's 1960's Aerokits Sea Commander still in its original state with 3.5cc diesel IC and his own self-designed and scratch-built electrics. This is the boat that won the "M.P.B.A. R/C Speed 3.5cc" in 1963. I would love to convert it to electric motor and modern r/c, preferably without destroying any vintage interest it may have, and see it running again but I think I'm going to need a lot of advice as I am a complete modelling novice. Hoping to show it on the South Manchester Model Boat Club stand at Haydock next weekend.
