    Spektrum, new, useless...
Evenin' John, Yeah, it turned out much easier than I'd expected, as I said it's always easier when you have the 'patient' on your bench! I was expecting to have to get the spectrum analyser warmed up! That's the way it goes sometimes ๐Ÿ˜Š I can see exactly what my 27 and 40 Meg sets are doing on my 60Meg scope but now I'm getting deeper and deeper into 2.4 Gig tech, and prompted by Martin's snag, I just ordered a little 2.7 Gig analyser!! Curse the expense 'Give the cat another canary' ๐Ÿ˜‰ Many thanks for the die cutting tips. I have some pretty good quality
    dremmel
diamond tipped cutting discs (0.75mm) so I'm sure they are 'Man enough'! I 'sucked electronic eggs' so all such mechanical engineering tips are more than welcome ๐Ÿ‘ All the best, Doug ๐Ÿ˜Ž

    Hi Hammer,
    dremmel
do some as well I think, maybe not so expensive, but if you want them to last ..... My pension is a bit complex; part UK, part Germany, part my old company! Anytime now the German Taxman will want his bite!๐Ÿค” The Proxxon and
    dremmel
stuff I buy here in various DIY / builders supplies stores, much cheaper than their own online prices๐Ÿ˜Š Google them some time, you might be pleasantly surprised๐Ÿ‘ Dunno about 'intelligenz', when I get stuck I just go back to basic principles and work back up! Anyway; who says mechanical engineers and craftsman are less intelligent? Definitely NOT me! You guys do things I can only aspire to! My Grandad was an 'old' Master Carpenter, I learned an awful lot from him, especially how to look after tools and sharpen chisels so you could slice tomatoes with 'em๐Ÿ˜‰ Keep up the good work. Cheers, Doug ๐Ÿ˜Ž

Vintage Model Works 46'' RAF Crash Tender
Checked the kit contents against the supplied list and it's all complete including the white metal fittings, windows and frames and transfers. The building instructions and diagrams are less than concise but a good enough as a guide. Had to buy some new modelling tools, saws, knives etc. Luckily I already had a

with a good range of cutting and drilling accessories. Aliphatic and epoxy adhesives and brass pins are on order so meanwhile I cut out the keel and bulkheads from their respective panels and dry fit them to the building board and jig to see how accurate and square the hull will be.

    Sea Commander
Hello folks, I've decided to replace the prop shaft from my Sea Commander and replace it with a new stainless component. However the original shaft and tube is in place clatched in resin! How would going about best removing it without doing any damage the hull? I've considered cutting into the resin with my

    cut down motor 'cans'
the motor cans on electric motors are normally too long and end up covering the cooling vents so I cut mine back with a
    dremmel
and diamond cutting disk. I tested first how much of the can I could cut off without losing the torque and found I could cut off almost half !!!, leaving the cooling vents wide open and still giving the extra torque I wanted.

    another ebay wreck
Hi, I fitted a standard case size servo (futaba 148) in the aft well right next to the rudder post and fed a servo extension lead under the main cabin floor to the rx. now, it was a really tight fit, to get the servo low enough in the hull I
    dremmel
led out the floor in the aft rudder well area exposing the keel and the bottom hull skins, and
    dremmel
led a slot in the upright of the well to push one of the servo mounting lugs into so it would fit, its in bits at the minute due to the hull skins delaminating from the transom so will post you a piccy when I have it back together. good luck db
