I should have thought of these things sooner. First, I prefer to put my receiver in plastic bag sealed with a zip tie , just in case. It's not water proof,but it is splash resistant. If I move the receiver to a different model I need to remove it from the bag to connect and bind it. The plugs fit very tight so I need to be careful. I decided to add short servo extensions to the receiver to all the channels and the bind plug before I seal it in the bag now if I move it it stays in the bag and it easier to connect and bind. I label the plugs with a silver colored , just line-up the wire colors. Second tip also easy.... I am using electronic speed controls which have a BEC. They come with an attached switch, that means you have to open the boat to get to it. I prefer an easy access external switch that I disguise. For example; one is a scale antenna that connects to a slide switch. Pull the antenna up to turn on push to turn off. Another switch is hidden as a mushroom vent, it is a push on, push off type. Pushing the vent turns the boat on and off. There are many ways to conceal switches. Again I sometimes move the speed control to a different boat. I cut the switch wire and added a JST plug. Now I can connect the speed control to the hidden external switch or just connect it back to the original switch if I like.
