    With radio controlled aircraft beg
    inners
were warned against seeing the hobby on the telly and wanting to go out and build a 10ft 4 engine Lancaster as their first model. Boats are not so bad, but it is still a good idea to start with a simple model to learn the ropes. I have a web site with free plans for beg
    inners
models at http://www.eezebilt.tk , but you may find a commercial kit more to your taste..? If you have not touched radio control for a long time, you may also need to familiarise yourself with the changes in radio and electric power which have taken place - depending on how long 100 years is! The common advice is to find a club near you - at the least find a place near you where you can sail - and talk to people with model boats there. That's the way to get practical tips about being able to follow this hobby in your chosen location...

Still think that the sides should be the eggbox sides - and the bottom v slope incorporated into the frames meeting a small part of the keel in the centre. Martin - were you thinking of the old principle of tumblehome when you created the upper chine ? - or was it just for effect ? Like the idea of a more complex model for the 50+'s DG. You have to improve your skills to get on - cant see it being intended for a beg
    inners
model anyway with the complex superstructure. One thing puzzles me however as to how you will mount two drives or a single one for that matter. Double would have to lean in towards each other surely causing a steering problem and single how do you cope with the V.

    Hints and Tips.
$15 NZ is not too bad for a pair of Sullivan (US) 3ft pushrods (2
    inners
2 outers plus 2 threaded rods 2 clevises, 2 clips and 2 keepers) makes it so much easier to make a set (or you can buy them as singles,- different lengths, sizes, $$ available) No worries about finding suitable tube for outers etc, then still having to buy clevises etc (or make Z bends) Not sure of the cost in UK etc,- perhaps they whack you with a bigger $ extraction stick up over ?

(Naval Ship) HMS Duke of York
Scratch built 1/200th scale, based on Revel 1/720th plastic hull, first started to build in 1980's as a 4 motored proppel model, but on recent re-fit and up-date, dropped drive to just the 2 inner motors leaving outer pair as dummies, also replaced some of decking found to be missing after she had been stored in shed, with plastic card, and added further minor armament, gun directories, Walrus Spotter plane and deck clutter, plus up rated speed controllers to 2.4GHz rating. (5/10) Had to lay of my sailing due to wife's health problems, but taking time to reinstate outer props and replacing her 30+ year old motors, just figuring how to extract old M2 outer props to match M4
    inners
, so far putting up a fight fitted them too well all them years ago :-)
