I have a wonderful book, written by Mark Twain during his first tour of Germany, which brilliantly describes why it is not only impossible but also highly undesirable and unnecessary to learn German😉 I'll dig it out and send you some of my favourite , which exactly mirror my experiences! It's a sad day!.

Right on the North East Coast on South side of Moray Firth. Aberdeen is about 40 miles South (and has a renovated pool in Duthie Park), Fraserburgh is East and inverness West. I don't know of any "club" further North than us - the are intentional, not really a club just a collection of like minded individuals.

Thanks Chris, entirely understand re downloading pics from camera. 😁Those blue jobs look neat, haven't seen any like that over here - yet! I have 'oodles' of the little X clamps you've also used and a few mini alu G clamps. They are virtually thrown at you at the check outs in the DIY stores here - bag of 12 for a quid or so. Wish I could get to the IMBS 🤔 Re quoting posts; "PS is there any way of quoting posts on this site as I haven't sussed how to do it if you can?" I haven't found any more elegant way of doing than that! Copy and paste (Control+C and Control+V) and putting it in in the new post. Happy clamping 😉 Looking very good so far, cheers Doug 😎

This rotation question seems to pop up regularly. Probably for a model, rotation direction doesn't really matter, but one authoritative answer can be found here: http://modeltugforum.com/index.php?topic=5947.0, which from the Ship Handler's Guide. To summarise the comments: Outward-turning propellers means the blades of the propellers are outward turning in the upper half of their circle of rotation, and, when viewed from astern, the propeller with the right-hand blades is on the starboard (right) side and again, when viewed from astern to drive the boat forward, it must rotate in a clockwise direction. This is the preferred arrangement on full-size ships because when using the props to assist a turn, i.e one prop pushing ahead and one pushing astern, the side thrust from the two propellers assists the turn. Finished Sections and Top Stringer

Looking good. 👍 Same construction method I used for my H Class destroyer. Appreciate the size problem, typical length to beam ratio of destroyers ca 9to1. Gives speed but affects stability. Where did I read like "she rolls on wet grass"! I chose 1:72 for Hotspur giving 136x12cm to play with. Don't despair; I squeezed in 2x500 brushed plus switching for lights, 2 sound boards, loud speaker, smoke generator and rotation for radar and main guns. Sure you can get 2x385 motors, or small brushless in 😉 Keep the top weight down though, or with the Buckley's 8.4 to 1 length to beam ratio you might have a near heart attack on the first fast turn, like I did with Hotspur 🤔 Keep up the good work, look forward to the video ....
